Story
Hi there! My name is Buzz Aldrin and I'm a 5 month old Male Shih Tzu Mix currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home!
The world is still a pretty big place to me, and sometimes I like to take things at my own pace. I'm a sweet puppy who's learning that new people, places, and experiences can be safe and fun. While I may be a little shy when we first meet, with patience, kindness, and time, I'll continue building confidence and showing more of my personality! Like all puppies, I still need help learning important life skills, including potty training, crate training, continued socialization, and basic manners. Because I can be a little unsure of new things, I'll do best with a family that understands that progress happens one step at a time and is willing to celebrate the small victories along the way. A predictable routine, positive reinforcement training, and a safe place where I can relax and decompress will help me feel secure. Mental enrichment, gentle exposure to new experiences, and opportunities to build confidence at my own pace will be important parts of my development as I grow. SBH also offers puppy classes, which can be a wonderful resource for helping me learn new skills, build confidence, and strengthen the bond with my new family. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to invest the time, patience, and love that every puppy deserves, I'd love the chance to grow alongside you and become your best friend!
Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier.
If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No appointment or advance notice is required!
