Story
2-3 year old boykin spaniel mix full grown at about 30 lbs.
Jazzy is a typical boykin, she is full of fun energy. So much that when picking out a name, we had to find one that was as playful as she was.
Boykins have moderate to high energy and require lots of exercise every day. They do best with active people, especially those seeking an athletic partner for activities like hiking, running, or biking. Regular exercise will help keep the Boykin healthy and happy. This can come in the form of long walks and play sessions. The breed also exercises mind and body by participating in obedience, tracking, agility, rally, field events, and other activities that can be enjoyed by both dog and owner.
Background- Jazzy was "pink pup" and purchased from a breed with the intention to breed with a doodle to make boykin doodles puppies. Before she could have all of her testing completed, Her breeder had a heart attack in October 2024. Months later she will make the decision to stop breeding, rehome all of the moms and unsold pups to focus on her health.
Jazzy came to rescue sweet as can be, but with a little reservation. She looks towards the other dogs in the home for resassurance. She would do best in a home with another dog to show her the way. She had lived the last few months outdoors in an outside kennel. Crate training, house training and leash walking are all new skills for her. She is super smart and doing better with each day.
Boykins need an occasional brushing (1-2 times a week) and a light groom every 6-8 weeks. They get long hair between their feet commonly called " grinch feet"
