Well, who wouldn't want this cat? He is as unusually beautiful as he is unusually affectionate. I would really have liked to add him to my family myself. However, as we've gotten to know him, we've learned that he really wants to be the only cat in his home. Right now he seems to want all the love you have to give and he gets a little jealous of others getting attention. It is entirely likely he will outgrow this after months of soaking up his new family's love. Honey was a kitten when he was purchased from abroad by a Ca. breeder who specialized in Ragdolls and Devon Rexes. She experimented with a few other breeds- Persians, Selkirk Rexes, a Sphynx and Honey Bear. After three or four years, she decided it was too much work to run a cattery and closed her business. I took in many of her wonderful kitties. British Longhairs are much less common in this country than they are in Europe. Honey Bear is a" Black Golden Shaded British Longhair". This means he's a green eyed, golden red boy with sprinkling of black throughout and especially on the tip of his tail. The unexpected black fur you can see on the bottoms of his four paws is an essential breed standard. I was excited to see this. "Look !!" I said "We have a classic Black Golden Shaded Longhair". Such fun. I have included a photo of the bottoms of his feet so you can see this dramatic coloring. Honey has an unusually long body front to back and sometimes you look down on him and think "Wow What a big cat he is !" but really it's mostly all fur over a slender body because he only he weighs a little over 10 pounds. He is just so incredibly beautiful that everyone who sees him stops and stares and then starts petting him. The web describes British Longhairs as gentle, affectionate, laid-back, easy-going cats who don't have a big prey drive. This is pretty much the way Ragdoll's are also described. Like Ragdolls, Longhairs get their lush fur from being interbred with Persians or Turkish Angoras. These kitties are known for being happy in multi pet households. Honey is not at all scared of other cats, he's confident both with new cats and new humans. The reason we want to set him up, for now, as an only cat is because I know he's gone through some hard times before he came to us. Catteries can be busy places with not enough attention to go around. (All the cats from this breeder are a little needy) I think perhaps flying across the world as a kitten and arriving in a cattery has left him a little needy for love and reassurance and a feeling of safety. I have no idea how he would be with dogs, but if they are friendly and respectful, I would expect him to do well. Same would hold true for children over 5 yrs old. It would be better if he was not competing with a baby for his human's attention. Honey Bear is a healthy, easy kitty- he uses his box perfectly, he eats all kinds of food. He needs a home with a human or humans who work from home or are around most of the time. The company that children, relatives, grandparents, friends could give him would be fine with him. He will greet strangers at the front door. He doesn't need a super quiet family. He has a big loving heart, and I know the best of his life is still to come. Some family will be so lucky to have his beautiful, loving, entertaining company in their home. He is a very unusually special kitty. Honey Bear is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz, California. My 7-year-old cat, Alfie, is the greatest cat I've ever met. He is very relaxed and is very affectionate. He is good with other animals and young children. Alfie is a perfect companion for adults as well. He is quiet and hardly meows. He loves music, especially live music. We often have pianos playing and people singing in our house, and Alfie always wants to be where the music is. He loves to feel the vibrations of the piano and lie underneath the piano player's bench while they play. He doesn't hiss or scratch at people; he is not aggressive in any way. If I had the means to meet his medical needs, I would keep him forever. However, Alfie needs a non-emergency cystotomy to remove a large bladder stone. He also has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This would require his owner to pay for an $8000 surgery. As of now, he is stable. But he should have the surgery sooner rather than later to prevent blockage. If you have the means to help him, please understand that he is 100% worth it!

I have a beautiful 1-year-old cat who needs a safe and loving new home. He is very cute, friendly, and loves to play. He is quiet and rarely meows. He is litter-trained and enjoys being indoors. This is a very difficult decision for me, but I am moving to another state and cannot keep him. He deserves a family that will love and care for him as much as I do. Smokey came from a loving home, but found himself homeless with his family living in their car. The transition away from his family has been rough, but he loves being petted and has found a new friend to play with here while he waits for his new home.

Found under a car tire, Nella and the rest of his siblings were rescued at weeks old where they were bottle-raised in a loving home and have been surrounded by lots of love, attention, and affection. The neighborhood kids have had a blast visiting them, helping socialize the kittens. As a result, Nella is now very comfortable around new people and strangers. Nella is the only girl in her litter, but she's also the fiercest player! She's always ready to chase a string, pounce on a toy mouse, or bat around a ball. But don't let her playful side fool you—she's also an amazing cuddler who loves being close to her people, especially curled up on your chest. Her purrs may be small, but they're full of affection. She'll even call out from another room when she's looking for you. Information to Note:Nella is 9 weeks old.Her vaccinations are scheduled for June 25th.Will be neutered June 26th

Sweet, cuddly cat looking for forever home. She is very active and loves chasing her ball toys across rooms. Will gladly sit in your lap for however long you will have her there. Loves to be talked to and to scratch her scratching post. Wish we could keep her.

Emma ran away from her previous owner's home during a forest fire. (They called her Bug. How undignified!) Once she returned, the house was gone and the neighbors took her to the shelter. Her meow sounds funny because of the smoke damage and she does not have a full set of teeth.. I like having a cat that can't bite me! she was about five to sixi years old then and I have had her for seven. She adores people but hates cats. She would like to be a lap cat but I dont sit still and so she lays right next to me instead. Now I have been in a major car crash.. broken pelvis broken back broken ribs.
