Story
I'm a sweet girl just out and about looking for a great place to land after weaning my kittens. Do you have just the spot for me? I have feline herpesvirus, this means I have a disease that makes me more prone to URI's (upper respiratory infections) aka a kitty cold. FHV cats can live long and healthy lives with stress management and vet care. I am a pretty healthy girl, but due to me having FHV, its safer for me to either be an only cat or go to a home with other FHV cats.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, are treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention and dewormed #adoptdontshop ##2363365##

Story
Loki has been with me for a long time, I've had him since 2012. He does ok with dogs, buts it’s been a few years since he’s been around them and he does ok with cats. I have another cat that he lives with, but he does play rough and likes to chase her. He likes cuddling, he likes being with people and he used to do really well at the vet. My ex used to be very mean to him, so he flinches a bit and tends to run if you raise your voice. I kept him after the divorce, but I can’t keep up with the vet bills. He needs his shots and needs imaging for his stomach, since he vomits too often. I was happy to save him from my ex but I feel like I’m not giving him a good home because of his medical needs. The adoption fee is waive-able of course, I just don’t want him to end up in a bad home. He meows a lot, too, I know some people prefer quiet cats. He’s a little dog-like. He doesn’t like little kids much since he’s older now, but he used to love them.
