Stella came into the foster with an embedded collar injury. Her collar had become stuck around her shoulder and caused an open wound.  She is now fully healed and ready for her new home.  She is shy at first but will love to be held once she gets to know you.  She would be great as the single kitty and in either a house or apartment.  She does fine hanging out on the bed chilling until her humans get home.  She would prefer a quieter home without too much activity and would be perfect for a retiree or someone who works long hours and wants a home companion. This is Minnie. She just loves her people. She is a pretty petite girl. She will rub on you and wants your pets. She has a motor purr and loves to play. She gets along great with other cats but is just as happy by herself.  She will make a great family kitty.  Has not been around dogs. Portabella is a gorgeous grey/white British/Domestic shorthair mix. She was loved by someone at some time but showed up at a colony one day to be fed. The colony caregiver noticed that she was definitely friendly and thought she was a "he" because there were no litters over several months.  One day she showed up terribly injured (having been caught in a car engine) and the caregiver reached out for help.  We sprang into action and got her to our vet, surgically repaired her broken jaw, and got pain meds for her carpal hyperextended leg.  We also discovered she had a spay tattoo and had been previously spayed.  After no-one came forward (no microchip) to claim her, one of our fantastic fosters agreed to make a spot for her and her beautiful personality blossomed during recovery. Portabella loves a cushy window seat to view the outside and make biscuits.  She LOVES her wet food (the diet during jaw repair) so she will likely beg for it. :)  She likes to snuggle but will get into "play" mode quickly with a few soft nibbles.  She would make a great kitty for a family with older kids familiar with cats. She prefers to be the only kitty, but will tolerate younger kitties. This is Ears Malone. His original name was Tiger, but he has so much expression in his ears, his foster mom renamed him.  He was born to a friendly stray mom in the rescue.  He gets along great with other kitties and does well with friendly dogs. He will give you love as soon as he gets to know you. He just takes a bit of patience. He needs a kitty buddy to give him snuggles and confidence. sweet handsome young boyThis is a courtesy listing and is not affiliated with Desoto Animal Rescue Society.   Bowie (after David Bowie) just celebrated his 1st birthday. He was rescued at 6 weeks old from a Taco Bell dumpster and has been fostered with the same family since August 2022. The family has trouble letting him go because he's so sweet and the kids love him, but he needs his forever home!   His foster family got a new puppy and he has not acclimated to her as they hoped he would. She wants to play with him too much and he is a lounger and prefers calm animals. His foster family has a Great Dane that he snuggles with, but their Golden Doodle gives him a little anxiety. He will  do best in homes with calm animals or no other animals.    He likes attention, pets, cuddling on the couch and in the bed, and sitting on the counter tops while his foster family cooks meals in the kitchen. He loves kids.   He does well when he has to be alone but he does best in a home where he is loved on often   He has been cared for by a vet but is not neutered. He was last given flea medicine on August 18th. He is curious about the outdoors but prefers inside.
