Story
Rehoming Dottie is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make. She is deeply loved and has been such a big part of our lives. With our upcoming move to Des Moines due to a change in jobs, we’ve had to take an honest look at the kind of life we can realistically provide for her moving forward. Dottie is a true hunting dog at heart — she thrives with space to run, explore, and stay active. Even after being in an accident, nothing ever slowed her down. Her spirit, energy, and drive have always amazed us. She deserves a home where those instincts and needs can continue to be fulfilled every single day. As much as we love her, we know we won’t be able to give her the environment, land, time, and support system she truly needs to live her happiest life. This decision comes entirely from love and wanting what is best for Dottie, even though it breaks our hearts. Our greatest hope is to find her a caring home where she can continue doing what she loves, be active, and be loved
