UPDATE!! Meet Sadie! This girl was taken in by one of our amazing volunteers a few weeks back after being found in a not so good area. She was being tortured by kids, who intentionally tried to poke her eye out. She was rushed to the vet and Dr. Gregory at Semmes Animal Hospital and the foster have been fighting hard to save the eye! She’s just a doll. She’s colored and has longer hair like a Brittany Spaniel and smaller in size like one, at just 15 lbs at 5 months old, but has the build of a lab. What her true breed is, we have no idea, besides a cute and sweet one. She’s such a chill pup. Not hyper at all. Great in the house and crate for her age. Does well with dogs of all sizes, cats and even chickens. We expect her to be a medium sized adult, along the size of a spaniel likely. We are hoping to get her eye fully healed in the next few weeks and she will be cleared for spay and will then be adoption ready! We are taking apps now and will be reserving her to the perfect forever home! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals. All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers.
