Story
Maggie is a happy dog. She is 3 years old. Loves to play with her ball. Maggie loves walks and also loves to run if she has an area to run in. She would be best suited with a man for a companion or a family with older children. Also a farm or someone with a large property. She is very loving and sweet! The first time she meets someone she will try to jump up for a pet or hug. That is why I say older children. she doesn't know her own strength. Maggie is a great companion and lives in the house with me.

MEET ELPHABA!STATS: 11 months old old, spayed, Brittany MixAFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: While I love playing with other dogs, and do so effortlessly and lovingly, I am a gentle girl at heart and would rather cuddle with people and watch the other dogs play! Don`t get me wrong, I can get a little bit zoomy at times during playgroup, but most of the time I am trying to find a human to snuggle me!WHAT I LOVE: I LOVE cuddles! Like... I can`t get enough attention. If you sit down near me, you best bet I will be right next to you!KIDS: While I haven`t been formally tested with kids, my shelter family thinks I would love them since I pretty much love EVERYONE!OTHER DOGS: I`m super dog-friendly! I go to playgroup here at the shelter every day!CATS: UnknownHER MATCH: I would be perfect for anyone looking for a cuddle buddy! I absolutely thrive on the approval and reciprocated love from my handlers, so I would benefit from someone who will give me the love and affirmation I crave.SPECIAL NOTE: I show my love by leaning my head against you and smiling!Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Story
Maple is a 2.5-year-old French Brittany who packs a whole lot of charm into her perfect 25-pound frame. Her foster family lovingly calls her “Meatball,” and honestly…it fits. She’s adorable, goofy, snuggly, and absolutely devoted to her people. Maple LOVES car rides, plush toys, and curling up next to you for belly rubs. She didn’t get much freedom or enrichment in her early life and likely spent most of her time in a kennel, so she came to us needing a refresher on potty training and some basic house habits. She’s made steady progress but still needs a patient family willing to keep her routine consistent. She can be a bit curious and may check out items that aren’t technically “hers,” so keeping tempting things out of reach and offering plenty of dog-safe toys will set her up for success. Maple does well in her kennel when her people are out of the house. She may give a little protest bark at first (she just has to make sure you know she has notes), but she settles down and rests quietly once she realizes she’s safe. Maple is not a dog that can live with or closely interact with other dogs. Through training, she has made progress in calmly seeing dogs at a distance with positive reinforcement, but pushing those interactions too quickly can cause anxiety for her. For her comfort and safety, she must be an only dog, and a fenced-in yard (ideally privacy fenced) would suit her best so she can explore and enjoy the outdoors stress-free. She’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Maple has mastered “sit", and is working on more tricks, but needs a little patience since she isn’t very food motivated. Maple is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Now she’s just waiting for a family who sees how special she is and can give her the structure, love, and dog-free home she deserves. Maple is currently in foster care in Wisconsin and has an adoption donation fee of $400.  If you are interested in adopting her and have been approved to adopt, let your state coordinator know you are interested in her.  If you haven’t yet done so, please go to: https://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application to fill out an application.  Your state coordinator will contact you and take you through the approval process.  If your application looks like a possible fit for her, your coordinator will contact Maple’s coordinator and continue the screening process. Maple’s state coordinator is Hallie Barbara. She can be reached at Minnesotabrittany@gmail.com for questions or inquires.   Thank you for considering this sweet girl.  December 15, 2025, 9:27 am
