Story
Sammy was found as a stray in San Antonio living in a rock hole he dug for himself on a construction site. It was clear he had been on his own for a while, starving, covered in ticks, flees, open wounds, and deep scars. It was apparent that he was badly abused and neglected, resulting in behavioral troubles, night terrors for months, waking up in fight or flight, resource guarding around other dogs, fear of brooms, and becoming a puddle when voices were raised. Today, a year later he is a completely different dog. He loves EVERY person he comes in contact with, he is silly, full of life and energy and loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch and chasing squirrels in the yard. He loves wrestling with our female puppy, playing fetch, and going for car rides. We suggest he goes to a home without other male dogs, he has displayed inconsistent aggression toward some of our other rescues. He has endless love to give to someone who will love him and show him patience and kindness.

Story
Hi, I'm Zelda! I'm a sweet girl who loves to run and play. My favorite part of the day is when I get to snuggle up to my human friends here. I'm a loyal girl, always ready to stand by your side. I thrive when I'm the only dog in the house, because I love to have all the attention on me. I'm always up for an adventure, or just a cozy day at home. With me, every day is a fun day! I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my love and loyalty. Adopting me means having a faithful companion who will always be there for you, ready to bring a smile to your face with my sweet, energetic personality. I promise to make every day brighter with my love and companionship.
