Meet Kratos, a gentle, goofy senior boy with a heart as big as his paws. At 12 years old, he’s looking for a loving, peaceful home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort — preferably as the king of the castle.Kratos loves life’s simple joys: carrying around his favorite orange Chuck It ball, playing tug-of-war, relaxing on beach days, enjoying tasty treats, and settling in for cozy naps. Despite his size, he’s a total softie who thrives on affection and a calm, steady environment. He’s perfect for someone looking for a loyal, mellow companion who still has a playful spark.At one point, Kratos spent some time in a foster home, and we learned some helpful things about him! While he settled in beautifully with his people, Kratos has decided that in his older age, he’s just not a fan of sharing his space with other dogs — he’d much prefer to be your one and only. He also thinks cats are a little too interesting (and not in a roommate kind of way), so he’s looking for a strictly dog-free, cat-free home where he can truly relax and soak up all the attention.Kratos is hard of hearing and occasionally gets ear infections, but a quick round of antibiotics usually has him feeling better in no time. Like many seniors, he takes joint supplements and eats senior food to stay comfortable. He also recently started two medications to support anxiety and help with some stress-related behaviors — shelter life can be tough at his age, and we’re hopeful that once he’s settled into a loving home, he may not need them long-term.The best part? An incredible donor has stepped up to cover ALL of Kratos’ current medications for life, including his heartworm and flea prevention. That means whoever opens their heart and home to this sweet senior won’t need to worry about those ongoing costs — just loving him is all he asks.Kratos has also had his adoption fee sponsored in the past. We went to the pound in June of 2025 and my son an i hit it off with Nova right away. She greeted him with a big lick on the face and she has been so good with him. We have a cat that goes inside and outside and sometimes she bugs the cat and wants to play but has never done anything to hurt him and they are left alone loose in the house together with no issues. She is kept in the house loose for long hours 10 hours and no accidents. She has some behavioral issues with the family goats and chickens. We have given her a year to get used to them but insist on trying to get them and bite at them, hasn't actually bitten anything but she wants to. We also live on a very busy road where people go 80 plus miles an hour and she has escaped and nearly 3 times almost hit by a car and i worry about her getting killed on our road. She really is a great dog unfortunately not being able to be loose because of her wanting to go under fence to goats and chickens , also with my work schedule.
