Hello, Name: Zeus Maximus Breed: Red Fawn BullMastiff Weight: about 130lbs Trained: Yes, crate trained also. Vaccinations: All up to date and paperwork can be provided. He has also been neutered. Kids: He is a great Family dog, but prefers to just lay around with whoever his owners are (to include kids), and pretty good with other dogs too. He also loves being pet and cuddled. He also does pretty good at being a Guard dog for the house, and barks when someone is in the driveway (living home alarm 😊). He has a huge appetite too.

Story
This is Gus. Gus is 2 years old, and I've had him since he was 12 weeks old (found him in an ad). For the last year he has attacked my 12 year old pit bull four times with no warning. The most recent fight was in July and it left me with punctures from getting between them. They are on a crate rotation currently (per a dog trainer), but I feel like this isn't fair to either of them. My senior should be able to live the rest of his life in peace, and Gus deserves better than so much time in a crate. He is a good dog otherwise. He is potty trained (will ring a bell on the door to go out), sits and waits to eat until we say "bingo", loves to snuggle under the covers, and does well in the bath. This is my last option. It is devastating because I love him so much, but this just isn't working. He will do best in a home with no other dogs, he is iffy with cats, and no small children (he's big and doesn't realize it so they could be knocked over).

Low ·       Bio:   This very large boy has a heart to match and is looking for a loving and patient home in which to continue his healing journey.  Goosifer was discovered wandering in the Kalamazoo, MI area in March and needed to be live-trapped.  He was scared, emaciated, and had a broken front leg.  With shelters as overwhelmed as they are right now, his future was very uncertain – but Goosifer quickly won over the shelter staff and they fought hard for him.  Speak! for the Unspoken was able to step in and get him out of the shelter to finish healing in a home.  He spent six months getting weekly splint changes to allow his leg to heal and is finally physically ready to be adopted. Mentally, Goosifer still has aways to go and he will need a special and patient adopter.  Mastiffs are known for being guard dogs and protecting their people, and Goosifer is a prime example.  He will have his one person and he will guard that person to the best of his ability.  Goosfier warms most quickly to women and he is afraid of men.  He is okay with the children in his home but does not like when other children are in the house.  Because of this, he needs a home with women only or a home where the adopters are willing to work with him extensively to get him comfortable.  He will need a more calm house that does not have a lot of guests.  We would like his potential adopter to be able to visit him a few times in Portage, MI to get to know him before any adoption is finalized. Moving slowly and giving him time to get to know you is very important.  It’s worth every moment when he decides that you are a safe person – then he becomes an absolute doll who never wants to leave your side, will lean on you so hard for scratches that you fall over, and sleep so soundly by you that he snores.  If you’ve really won him over, he will spread himself on his back so that you can get to all the good spots on his tummy for the most important scritches.   If you think you might be Goosifer’s forever home, fill out an application to meet him! ***PLEASE READ*** WE DO NOT RESPOND TO PETFINDER OR EMAIL INQUIRIES.
