Story
Meet Gus, an XL, handsome Anatolian Shepherd estimated to be around 5 years old. Gus came to us from local animal control and has proven himself to be an absolute gem. He’s tall, about 85 lbs, and arrived underweight, so he’ll need a home committed to helping him continue to fill out and thrive. Gus is the definition of a gentle giant. He is wonderful with other dogs and truly exceptional with cats. He reads their cues perfectly—if they want space, he gives it; if they want to cuddle or play, he is gentle and patient. He has not been around children while in our care, but due to his size and strength, he would do best with older, sturdier kids who won’t be easily knocked over by an enthusiastic greeting or a happy tail swipe. This big guy has so many wonderful qualities. He’s great in the car and simply lays down in the backseat. He’s crate comfortable, fully potty trained, knows sit and shake, and is incredibly smart. He recently had his enormous dew claws removed and handled it all like a champ. Gus also loves to play fetch and absolutely enjoys cuddle time. His foster says he is “literally the perfect dog” with zero complaints. As an Anatolian Shepherd, Gus is very true to his breed. It’s important for adopters to research the breed and be prepared for the commitment, lifestyle, and responsibility that comes with owning a livestock guardian–type dog. Gus is amazing, but like all dogs of his breed, he needs the right home that understands and appreciates who he is. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, steady-hearted companion, Gus is ready to be that dog. Adoption application can be found at this link-https://airtable.com/shrAznkHf1ruIqQwq

Story
Meet Kodiak, a gentle giant in the making with a heart as soft as his coat. This almost 6-month-old mastiff mix is tan with striking black markings around his face and the most soulful light brown eyes that stop you in your tracks. Kodiak came to rescue from animal control underweight, but he’s doing wonderfully in his foster home and steadily putting on the weight he needs. What hasn’t needed any help is his personality—he is truly the sweetest boy. He has chosen his foster mom as his person and, if given the chance, will happily lay on top of her about 95% of the time. He thrives on closeness and affection and wants nothing more than to be near his people. He already knows how to sit, learned his name quickly, and is eager to keep learning. Kodiak is very smart and picks things up fast. He is currently working on potty training and understands that outside is where he’s supposed to go, though he still has occasional accidents, mostly from excitement. He does well in a crate and continues to improve every day. Kodiak absolutely loves other dogs and cats and does great with them. He has not yet been around children, and since he’s still growing and sometimes forgets how big he is, a home that can help guide him as he matures would be ideal. As a bonus, he has the softest coat imaginable and a playful side—his favorite toys are anything with stuffing, which he proudly redistributes around the house. Kodiak is the kind of puppy that makes fostering hard, because he’s truly that special. He will make an incredibly loving, loyal companion for a home ready to grow with him and give him the stability and affection he deserves.
