Story
Hi, I’m Harley! I’m 2½ years old and a big, loving girl with an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who brings both affection and fun, I might just be your perfect match!I’m fully housetrained and I actually love my crate. I go in for meals and when my people leave the house, and sometimes I just relax in there because it feels cozy. When it’s time to come out, I may take my sweet time — but I’ll come out when I’m ready!I get excited (in the best way!) when I meet new people. Men, women, kids of all ages — babies to teenagers — I love them all. I can be a little enthusiastic when I’m getting affection because I don’t always realize how big I am… but it’s only because I’m so happy. Belly rubs are my absolute favorite!I’m friendly with both big and small dogs, and when I’m outside, I’m playful and happy. I walk great on a leash and love getting attention from anyone willing to give it. Out in public? I’m your social butterfly.I’m smart and a fast learner. I know “sit” and listen really well — especially if treats are involved! I take treats nicely and I’m kenneled during feeding time. After meals, I sometimes like to play with my bowl, so metal bowls are best for me (I’ve been known to chew plastic ones).I love toys — especially balls and tug-of-war ropes. I will admit… if a stuffed toy comes my way, I may help remove the stuffing. ?? I’ve been known to carry off a shoe here and there, but I’ve never destroyed one.Overall, I’m a very content girl. I’m just as happy playing as I am lounging around and napping near my people. I don’t have separation anxiety, I don’t climb fences, and I’m a loving, caring, sweet girl who is well behaved and ready for my forever home.If you’re looking for an affectionate, playful best friend who will give you all the love (and expect plenty of belly rubs in return), I’m your girl.Love, HarleyMy adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! The most accurate and up to date information about adoptable pets is on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org. Meet Kay!Kay is a loving, smart, but protective girl. She would do best with a single person who's willing to put Kay up if company comes over. She is very loving & sweet with us and our staff, but has been selective with people once in a home. Kay is leash trained and house trained, doesn't mess up anything in the home.Adoption Fee: $75Requirements: Experienced & Patient dog person, Fenced yardAn adopter should expect it to take time for Kay to settle into a new home and routine, take things slow, don't have company over until a bond is established. We can help you with the process.  Kay is living in our boarding facility and does well with our staff ages 14 to 60 years old, males and females. Kay has never shown an aggression towards us. When she was adopted out previously, she did charge some family members.Kay's previous pet parents spent a lot of time with her, taught her many commands, and deeply loved them. Sadly, they fell on hard times, lost their home and surrenderd all 4 pets of their to CARE. Kay once lived with a doberman female and 2 senior cats. If interested in giving this sweet girl the forever home she deserves, apply today!  A completed adoption application and home visit are required for approval to adopt a CARE dog. Out of state adoptions okay. All dogs receive a distemper/parvovirus vaccine(s), kennel cough vaccine, rabies vaccine, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, flea & tick prevention and treatment if needed, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE.The most accurate and complete information about available dogs can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.www.caretoadopt.org Adoption saves lives!
