Story
Hi there! My name’s Doodlebug and here is some important info you need to know about me.  Breed: Cairn terrier mix  Age: 2 years  Gender: Male  Weight: 9kg / 19 pounds  Height: 35 cm / 13.7 inches  Highlights: cheerful, cuddly, eager to please, loyal, playful I’m small but mighty! I was found abandoned in an industrial area, all alone and struggling to survive. Life was scary back then, and I was dangerously thin, sick, and weak. Luckily, a kind human rescued me and brought me to safety, where I received months of care, food, and love until I became the healthy, happy boy I am today. After lots and lots of care, I’m all set for my next adventure—finding a forever home of my own.  I’m a cheerful, curious, and affectionate pup who loves to play and make people laugh. https://youtube.com/shorts/KiVDg2Wfd6U?si=RD4IwpmN4Q8A0yX3   I get along really well with women, and while I can be a little unsure around men at first, once I know they’re kind, I’m all over them! Since I haven’t lived in a traditional home, I’ll need a little time to get used to new sounds and experiences. I’d love someone patient who can help me polish my manners and show me what home life is all about.  Even though I missed out on an easy start, I’ve got a big heart and a love for life that shines through everything I do. I’m smart, eager to please, and quick to learn—so with a bit of guidance and consistency, I know I’ll thrive. I’m the full package: cute, loving, a little mischievous, and always ready for cuddles or playtime. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your love and patience with endless joy, tail wags, and devotion, then I think we’re meant to be. Get along with:  Dogs: yes  Cats: unknown  Kids: yes, but because I am rambunctious, I would probably be better around older kids. Prey drive: none observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors arise. Fears: none observed, however, I am more comfortable around women, but once I know men are kind, I am all over them. Training: some  Leash training: I walk well on leash  House trained: no I will need training, but I learn very fast! Health notes: I have a clean bill of health and I have been neutered vaccinated and microchipped. I have even had my teeth cleaned! My adoption fee is 850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2554831##
