Meet Forest! At two years old and weighing 22 pounds, this big guy with a huge personality is looking for a loving home after his owner recently passed away. The largest of his litter, Forest is a delightfully aloof, talkative, and independent pup with plenty of character. ​While he has an independent side, he’s also a big softie who just wants to cuddle, talk to you, and be loved! He is both potty trained and crate trained. Because he isn't a fan of the lead and loves to run, he’ll do best with a secure, fenced backyard where he can freely stretch his legs. ​Forest thrives on Dog Chow and will come with enough food to transition easily to his new home. If you're ready for a unique, chatty, and affectionate companion, Forest is ready to meet you!

This pup will be available to meet starting on 10/24 They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by using the link in their approval email.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees are non refundable once a pet is taken home.  Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up in Colorado, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances delaying pick up. Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2871850##

Because of this, she cannot cope with a busy, high-energy environment, and she requires a household free of children or other pets. She desperately needs a calm, adult-only, single-pet home where she can be your one-and-only focus and live the quiet, low-stress life she deserves.
