Story
We adopted Stella in 2019 from an animal shelter two cities away. Although she’s around 13 years old now, her personality is that of a puppy. Stella loves to run around and gets very jumpy when she sees someone she likes. She will follow you around the whole home and can be very loyal to one person. She likes to sleep for most of the day, but as soon as you call her name she will frantically scramble towards you haha. Stella is super friendly towards adults and children. However, she doesn’t seem to mind other dogs. I’m looking for a home with someone who can give her all the TLC she deserves. Microchipped and spayed.

Story
Lenny is about two years old, 15 lbs and cute as he can be. He’s very playful, loves toys and good snuggles. He’s mostly potty trained and prefers a couch or bed to the kennel. He’s “ok” in a kennel, but will need additional kennel training if that is important to you. He’d love another playful dog, but cats are too much of a curiousity for him. Little/small kids seem to be a bit scary to him, so 10 and older should be ok. He’s a velcro dog and prefers someone home more than not. Cool too that he doesn’t seem to shed much or at all. If you’d like to make Lenny a member of your family, please fill out an adoption application. Lenny’s wish list: dog playmate in the home, backyard, his person to be home more than not, and no children under 10. Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1915569##

I'm as sweet as a lollipop and as playful as a squirrel on caffeine. My journey to the shelter? Well, it's quite the tale. I was living the high life with a family of raccoons, learning the art of dumpster diving. However, my career was cut short when I accidentally toppled over a trash can, causing a ruckus that woke up the entire neighborhood! The raccoons scampered away, leaving me behind. A kind lady found me and brought me here. Now, I'm ready for a new adventure! I promise to bring you laughter, love, and maybe a few harmless pranks if you adopt me!June 15, 2025, 11:28 am

Story
Meet Rocket! Rocket is a goofy, sweet, and incredibly affectionate little boy who’s ready to steal your heart. This energetic, charming pup loves nothing more than sharing his favorite stuffed rabbit with you—he'll proudly bring it over, drop it at your feet, and eagerly wait for you to throw it so he can retrieve it with joy. Completely house trained and crate trained, Rocket sleeps soundly through the night and has great house manners. He loves going on walks, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is gentle and friendly with children. Rocket is the kind of dog who brings smiles wherever he goes—and he truly is a very good boy! Rocket would do well in a home with children who want to play or someone who is home with a lot of energy to play! If you're looking for a loyal companion with a silly streak and a heart full of love, Rocket is your guy. ##2422165##
