Story
Meet Miles — a young, scruffy puppy currently estimated to be 3 months old and weighing around 10 pounds. We believe this little one may be a Cairn Terrier mix, but as with many rescue pups, their exact breed blend is unknown. What we can say for sure is that Miles is 100% deserving of a loving home. Miles is currently thriving and is beginning to explore the world through play, naps, mealtime routines, and gentle socialization. While he has that adorable, wiry, scruffy coat, his personality is incredibly lovable and chill for a pup his age. Like most puppies, life right now revolves around eating, sleeping, learning, and building bonds with people. Every day brings a new experience, and with it, Miles is developing the foundation for becoming a confident and well-adjusted adult dog. You can see his sweet personality in action here: https://youtu.be/UpFE-bk0Z5s We understand that bringing a puppy home is a big decision, and we want to set both you and Miles up for success. Puppies require time, patience, and consistency. Miles will benefit from Crate Training & Structure, helping him feel secure in his own space, continuing to build his relaxed, teaching him important life skills like potty training, leash walking, and basic manners. It’s important to keep in mind that puppies may grow into active, intelligent dogs who thrive with regular mental and physical stimulation. Even a chill pup like Miles will need adopters who are prepared to meet those needs with training, play, and engagement—not just now, but through adulthood. If you’re ready to invest in the journey and build a lasting relationship with a sweet, scruffy best friend, Miles might be the perfect match. Story
Welcome Leader to CCPAL Rescue. Leader is a Cairn Terrier Mix. He is friendly with other dogs and came in with 2 other dogs. He came in with a pregnant momma dog and a male dog named Arty. Arty and Leader have play time and are kenneled together at the Rescue. Leader is 26 pounds and is about 2 years old. His teeth look clean so he won’t need a dental anytime soon. His coat wasn’t as pretty as it is now that he has been in the Rescue a couple of weeks. He is getting lots of daily attention and good nutrition. He is getting his DHPP vaccines and will get Rabies when neutered. He would be fine in a home with a moderately active family. He is sturdy enough to be a good walking companion. He will need brushing and maybe some grooming to have the tip top coat. He isn’t a big shedding dog. He is vocal but not over the top. I would call him an alert dog bark. He will alert you that something is different or someone different is here. He settles down nicely and is also able to be relaxed and chill. He would be able to go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is social and very happy. He is independent and not too clingy. He isn’t used to constant touching and attention and is fine relaxing by you and watching what you are doing. We would love this boy to have his very own forever home where he can get daily attention, walks and everything a loved dog gets. He was from an overcrowded situation….maybe a City Removal type case. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video

Story
Meet Tonka! Tonka is a 4-month-old Cairn Terrier/Blue Heeler mix weighing just 11 pounds, and he is packed full of personality, affection, and charm. This sweet boy loves nothing more than being close to his people. Whether he’s curled up in your lap, soaking up belly rubs, or following you from room to room, Tonka is happiest when he’s spending time with his family. Tonka is a very social puppy who enjoys meeting new people and taking part in everyday activities. His friendly, confident nature makes him an excellent candidate for public outings, whether that means visiting a pet-friendly store, enjoying an outdoor café, or joining you on family adventures. He loves attention and is always eager to make new friends. Like any young puppy, Tonka enjoys playtime and would especially love a canine companion around his size to romp and wrestle with. He has an energetic, playful side but also knows how to settle down and enjoy quiet cuddle time with his favorite humans. Tonka is already off to a great start with his training. He knows the command “sit” and is both kennel trained and potty trained. His eagerness to please and affectionate nature will make continued training enjoyable and rewarding. Tonka is currently being fostered in a loving home in Seguin, Texas. While he resides in Texas, he can be transported out of state to the right forever family after adoption. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and social companion who will fill your days with smiles, Tonka may be the perfect match for you! You can apply directly for Tonka by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-855 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
