Story
**Note: Ohoh is currently in Korea, but he will fly to San Francisco once adopted. Background Ohoh’s life hasn’t been easy. As a tiny puppy, he was found wandering in an apartment complex in Wanju, Korea. He was sent to a city pound, where he spent the next five years chained in a poor shelter with little comfort or care. This summer, Ohoh finally came to us and has been living at our boarding house, where he is safe and loved while waiting for his forever family. Personality & Socialization Ohoh is a gentle, sweet, and loyal boy with a calm, easygoing nature. He has medium energy, happy to go for walks and spend time with people, but also content to relax quietly by your side. He’s very friendly with people, both men and women, and loves being close to his humans. When it comes to other dogs, Ohoh gets along well with gentle, friendly, and well-mannered dogs. He does not do well with overly bossy, dominant, or hyper dogs. Behaviour Ohoh is well-behaved, obedient, and very smart. He bonds strongly with people and follows their lead easily. He rides calmly in the car, tolerates bath time, and is cooperative at the vet. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys outdoor potty breaks, and is quiet indoors. We’ve rarely heard him bark. With a little training, Ohoh will blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. Health & Diet Ohoh is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccines. He is dewormed and on monthly parasite prevention. When first rescued, he was treated for anaplasmosis, and he has since made a full recovery. He’s in good health and ready for his forever home. Ohoh eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no allergies. Ideal Home Ohoh will thrive with a family looking for a calm, gentle, and loyal companion. He gets along well with other gentle, quiet, and well-mannered dogs, but he would be happiest as the only dog in a calm home. A quiet, relaxed lifestyle where he can soak up love and attention from his humans would be perfect for him. Ohoh is an easygoing and affectionate boy who simply wants to be by your side. Whoever adopts him will be very lucky. -------------------------------- For more info about the dog or adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/ohoh/

Story
** ** Note: Currently, Youja is in Korea, but she will fly to SF once she’s adopted. Background Youja was rescued from a city pound in Changwon, Korea last spring. Since then, she has been living safely at our partner boarding house, where she’s been learning to trust and enjoy life again. Personality & Socialization Youja is a gentle, loving, and bright girl. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate side shines through. She enjoys spending time with people and other dogs but also values her quiet time. She’s friendly without being clingy. She’s great with both men and women and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, big or small. Youja enjoys playing with her furry friends but is also respectful if they want space. She has a lovely balance, social and sweet, yet chill and independent. Behaviours Youja is easy-going and well-mannered. She doesn’t love baths, but she allows her human to handle it patiently. She’s calm at the vet and good in the car. She’s still learning to walk confidently on leash and can be a little nervous in new places, but she follows her person’s lead and adjusts quickly. She’s quiet, well-behaved, and has a calm energy for her age. Health & Diet Youja is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She’s dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. She eats dry food twice a day and has shown no allergies. Ideal Home Youja would do best in a calm, loving home. Perhaps with another gentle and friendly dog to keep her company. She’ll be a wonderful fit for someone looking for a second dog or anyone who enjoys a peaceful lifestyle and wants a sweet, loving companion. With a little patience and time to settle in, Youja will blossom into a loyal and loving family member. ------------------------------ For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/youja/

Story
**Note: Yougncheol is currently in Korea, but will fly to San Francisco upon adoption. Background Youngcheol was rescued from a high kill shelter in November 2019. After his rescue, he spent six long years living in a shelter in Paju alongside many other dogs. Recently, he finally got his chance to experience home life and moved into foster care in an apartment with a kind couple. After so many years in a shelter, adjusting to city life was not easy. During the first couple of weeks, he struggled with his appetite and seemed unsure about the new routine. But with patience, consistency, and gentle reassurance, he slowly began to relax. Now, he is much more comfortable and continues to blossom each day. Personality and Socialization Youngcheol is a gentle, submissive soul with a low to medium energy level. Indoors, he is quiet and calm. He rests well on his own and does not demand constant attention. Outside, however, you see a brighter side of him. He enjoys his walks and becomes happy and playful, especially when he sees other dogs. He has always been social with dogs. At the playground, he joins in nicely and plays well, especially with gentle and friendly dogs around his size. He seems unsure around very small dogs and often avoids them, as if he does not quite know how to interact. Larger dogs closer to his size appear to give him comfort, perhaps reminding him of his old shelter friends. He has no experience with cats. With people, Youngcheol is sweet and affectionate once he feels safe. He is more comfortable with women and can be shy around men at first. He may approach for treats and quiet pets but needs a little time to fully trust. Sudden loud voices, especially from young children, can make him nervous. Calm older children would be a better match for him. He loves being near his people. He follows them softly from room to room, simply checking in. At night, he sleeps peacefully in his own space, then comes to say good morning as soon as he hears the alarm. He is not clingy, just quietly devoted. Behaviours Youngcheol has shown no signs of aggression and no separation anxiety. When left alone, he mostly sleeps and rests calmly. He prefers outdoor potty. On walks, he may feel nervous near loud traffic or busy intersections, but overall he enjoys being outside. At the start of a walk, he can become excited and may try to sniff other dogs’ droppings. With gentle leash guidance, he walks calmly. He is generally fine with people passing by but can be startled by pigeons, buses, or sudden loud noises. He is still building confidence in the outside world and benefits from a patient and expereinced dog parent. He may experience mild car sickness, though it has been improving. Baths are not his favorite, but he stands still and tolerates them quietly. Afterward, he often runs around playfully to shake it off. He allows brushing when done gently in a calm space. He does not enjoy being picked up and may look worried if he senses something unfamiliar is about to happen, but he remains docile. Even when given medicine directly by mouth, he calmly accepts it. He loves gentle petting, meat treats, eggs, and playing with his stuffed dolls at home. Health and Diet Youngcheol is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. He receives monthly parasite prevention and is healthy and ready for adoption. He eats regular dry kibble. He can be a little picky at times and prefers to eat when his people are having dinner. He enjoys sweet potatoes unless medicine is hidden inside. He has no known allergies. Ideal Home Youngcheol would thrive in a calm and patient home, ideally in a quieter neighborhood. After spending most of his life in a shelter, the outside world can still feel overwhelming at times. He needs a family who understands that confidence grows slowly and beautifully with kindness. Having another steady and friendly dog around his size would be wonderful for him, as he feels comforted by canine companionship, though it is not a requirement. Youngcheol is not demanding or high maintenance. He simply hopes for a peaceful home, gentle guidance, and people who will let him move at his own pace. In return, he will give quiet loyalty, soft companionship, and the sweetest morning greetings you could ever ask for. --------------------------------- For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/youngcheol/
