Story
Meet Bandit, a one and a half year old Corgi mix weighing 35 pounds.Bandit is a Corgi with a big personality and a few opinions of his own! He came to us after his family found themselves with more animals than they could manage, and now he`s looking for a home that understands his needs and is ready to put in the work to help him succeed.Bandit can be a little opinionated about things he doesn`t enjoy, including leash handling, people moving too quickly into his space, and veterinary care. When uncomfortable, he may nip, so we`re looking for an adult-only home with no children and someone experienced with dogs who can respect his boundaries while helping him learn better ways to handle stressful situations. Bandit will benefit from consistent expectations, structure, and positive reinforcement to help him become the best version of himself. He`s also selective about his canine companions, so a meet-and-greet is required if you have another dog at home.Bandit arrived with a matted coat, and keeping him comfortable will require regular grooming. Depending on his coat`s needs, he may benefit from professional grooming or daily brushing to prevent painful mats from forming.Corgis are intelligent, alert, and often strong-willed little dogs. They were bred to herd livestock, so they can be energetic, vocal, independent, and quick to make their opinions known! They thrive with mental enrichment, consistent training, and clear boundaries.Bandit isn`t looking for just any home. He`s looking for someone willing to make a commitment, provide structure, and work through his challenges with patience and consistency. If you`re looking for a dog who will keep you on your toes and you`re ready to put in the effort, Bandit might be your guy! This pet is available for adoption on 10.13.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
