Story
Name: Lizard Age: 2 years Breed: Catahoula Leopard dog Size: 31.4 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Lizard is a lovable 2-year-old, 32-pound pup who came into our care as a stray in mid-October 2025. From the moment he arrived, his gentle nature and happy spirit have made him a shelter favorite. He has a great amount of energy and loves to start his day with a few joyful zoomies, but once he gets that out of his system, he settles into a calm, affectionate companion. Lizard already knows how to sit, is eager to learn more, and loves working with people. He’s wonderful with other dogs and would thrive in a home with playmates or a family looking for a friendly, easygoing addition. His sweet personality, good manners, and fun-loving attitude make him an amazing family dog in the making. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and gentle new best friend, come meet Lizard—he just might be the perfect match for you.

Story
I got Hank when he was a puppy from the shelter in Bloomington while I was in college. He is about a year and half old now (he will be 2 in March). Ideally Hank should be with someone who has a yard or land for him to explore. He is a high energy dog and loves to try to chase small animals like squirrels and rabbits. He’s a very loyal dog & protective of his owner & house. Some adjectives I would use to describe Hank are sweet, loving, funny, weird, anxious, protective, friendly, and loyal. Hank has some behavioral issues such as separation anxiety and some aggression towards other male dogs. He barks a lot when he is by himself because of his separation anxiety. This resulted in many noise complaints at my apartment. I would recommend whoever is interested in adopting Hank either works remote or has a house where noise complaints aren’t as much of an issue & can cage-train him. The adoption fee includes a cage, food, a dog bed, & his toys. He is up to date on all vaccines/neutered

Story
Meet Weston, aka Moo! Age: Born approx. July 2023 (~2+ years old) Weight: ~70 lbs (currently on a diet to reach a healthier weight) Moo is a lovable, playful, and loyal companion! He adores food, enjoys adventure, and also loves cuddle time. He gets along well with other dogs and is very social, though he does have natural hunting instincts and likes to chase cats. A home without cats would be ideal. Moo is used to sleeping in bed with his human, though he is being trained to sleep elsewhere for homes that prefer furniture-free pets. He has some allergies and is currently on Apoquel, which keeps him comfortable. He knows sit, down, paw, place, and stay. He gets excited, but learns fast. Moo is a devoted dog who thrives on attention, structure, loves meeting new people, and will make a fun, loving addition to the right home. Ideal Home: No cats, Active lifestyle or willing to give him plenty of exercise and adventure, Understanding of his allergy needs and ongoing training
