Story
Sadie is a 9-year-old Lab/Catahoula mix. Great temperament and fully trained. We raised her from a pup. She is still very active and loves to play. Enjoys car rides and going for walks. No special diet or health issues. She is great with other dogs and kids. No behavior problems but will bark at people she doesn't know. Sadie usually spends her day napping and going outside 3 times a day. Grooming her requires a brush to get her undercoat to reduce shedding and we bath her once a month. Like most labs, she is not a fan of thunder or storms. She will pant and find a quiet corner to hide in until it passes. She listens when you call her and doesn't run off. Overall, a low maintenance loving pet. We have moved into a smaller home and have pet restrictions and limited yard space. We'd love to find Said a home that will give her the same love and attention we've given her, and she'd make a great addition to any family.

Story
Meet Mabel, a gentle soul looking for her forever home. Mabel is great with other dogs and cats, making her a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. At first, she can be a bit shy and timid, and she may get frightened by sudden movements or loud noises. However, once she warms up to you, she reveals her sweet, affectionate side and loves to cuddle.Mabel thrives in a calm and quiet environment, so she would do best in a home that isn't too busy. She has a strong aversion to crates and will express her discomfort vocally, so a space where she can feel safe and secure is essential. Mabel is mostly potty trained, but like any dog, she may need some reminders as she settles in.If you're patient, loving, and ready to provide Mabel with the quiet home she needs, you'll be rewarded with a loyal companion who brings warmth and joy to your life. Mabel is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. Story
Hello there, I'm Harley. I'm a big fan of lounging in the sun, feeling its warmth seep into my fur. It's one of the simplest pleasures in life, don't you think? I'm pretty easy-going, I love to hang out with my dog friends here. We have a good time together. I'm also quite calm, I've been told. I think I might have lived in a house before, I seem to know the ropes. But I'm ready for a new adventure, a new home to explore. If you're looking for a friendly, mellow companion who loves a good sunbath, then I'm your girl. Let's make some sunny memories together.

Those eyes though!! Say hello to Boudreaux, a 8 year old Catahoula. Boudreaux is 65 pounds of sweetness! That is a lot of sweetness. Boudreaux is a big boy but he is very calm and would do well with a senior or a calmer family. He is a smart fellow, does well on leash and is crate trained. This gentle, even-tempered man does like to let you know what he's thinking and is talkative. He does well with other dogs, kids and adults and his adoption fee is only $70 which covers shots, neuter and microchip. AND Boudreaux is heartworm negative! Come and meet this handsome man at the Livingston Parish Animal Shelter or call 225-686-7798 for more info. October 4, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Meet Annie, the most perfect 15 pound dog stuck in a 75 pound body that you will ever meet. Annie was living with her family and a Shih Tzu in a home pre-Ida. Their home was destroyed and they were forced to live in their car. As you can imagine, that wasn't easy. Her family made the difficult decision to surrender her to us in the hopes of finding appropriate housing for her. When haven't had any luck yet...probably because of her size. Annie is exuberant and loves life. She is treat motivated and wants to do everything to please her human. She is house trained and great on leash, once her initial excitement is over. Her 2 former fosters gave her glowing reviews on her house manners. Please consider fostering or adopting this big girl. She is up to date on shots, microchipped, spayed and promised to make you smile each and every day. Ten months is too long to find a home for this Ida survivor. She deserves more. Thanks. Michelle
