Story
Name: Duke Age: 3-4 years old Breed: Mixed breed Gender: neutered male Current Weight: 66 lbs Estimated weight when grown: full grown House broke: Mostly, has occasional accidents Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Good with Children:Yes, all ages Heartworm Test: negative Adoption Fee: $100 Misc. Information: Duke was surrendered to the shelter due to owner no longer being able to care for him. He has been a nervous but sweet guy here at the shelter. Please go slow with him and give him soace if he is not wanting attention. Let him come to you. Duke is said to have been a farm dog and is use to being able to run. He was an indoor dog and use to being inside and is said to be mostly house broke with occasional accidents. He knows several commands and walks fairly well on the leash. Duke was just returned for not being house broke and chasing cattle. He would do best in a fenced yard and probably not living where there is livestock. Though it says he was use to being a farm dog, he was more than likely not monitored when outdoors and did what he wanted and when which is where the running and chasing livestock behavior may be coming from. As for the house training, he is going to require some time and patience while he fully learns the concept. Now that he has been neutered and those hormones should be out of his system he may catch on to it a little better. The shelter provides a 5-day health guarantee for adopted animals. This includes health conditions not present or known about by the shelter at the of adoption, which adopter becomes aware of within 5 days. Injuries or accidents that occur at the adopter's home are not covered. The shelter is not responsible for incurred costs from local veterinarians due to non-compliance. ALL adoptions are final! Animals can be returned to the shelter for any reason, however, there are NO refunds or exchanges.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Ruger Age: 2-3 years old Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound Gender: Neutered male Current Weight: 47 lbs (thin, needs to gain about 5 lbs) Estimated weight when grown: Full grown House broke: Unknown Good with Dogs: Unknown Good with Cats: Unknown Good with Children: Unknown Heartworm Test: negative Adoption Fee: $100 Misc. Information: Ruger was brought to the shelter as a stray so little is known about him at this time. He is your typical hound dog and not a fan of being copped up in the shelter. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard and room to be a hound. He probably wouldn't be suitable for apartment or condo living where there is a shared roof as he does seem to be a barker, which is also a hound thing. The Treeing Walker Coonhound is an energetic, intelligent, and friendly American scent hound known for its exceptional hunting skills, particularly for treed raccoons, boasting a distinctive baying voice and a tri-color coat. They are affectionate and calm at home but require significant daily exercise and consistent, positive training, thriving in active families who can meet their high energy and mental stimulation needs, with a lifespan of about 12-13 years.
