Hey there, pals! He's always raving about how sweet and loving I am, and let's not forget my impressive people skills – I can get along with any pup I meet! 🐶 I've got this knack for diffusing any tense situations with my goofy antics – whether it's rolling around, jumping over things, or wiggling my way into someone's space, I'm all about spreading those good vibes and showing everyone that life's meant to be enjoyed! 😄 Check out my personality in action: https://youtu.be/Nl18hewfB5U Sure, I may look a bit awkward sometimes with my long legs and silly behavior, but trust me, I'm as athletic as they come! I love zooming around and jumping for joy – it's like I've got springs in my paws! 🐾 And let me tell ya, my foster dad gets a kick out of watching me run – my joy is just contagious! 🏃‍♂️ I went and visited my friends home with 6 dogs and 2 teens and they said I did fantastic even with 13 pound dogs! I received an A+ But hey, I'm not just a goofball – I've got some serious house manners too! I'm crate-trained, walk like a champ on leash, and I'm all about those car rides. Plus, I adore kiddos – they're like my favorite playmates! 👶 I'm on the lookout for a forever home where I can be a part of the family and go on all sorts of adventures together. Once we bond, I'll be your trusty sidekick – whether we're exploring the great outdoors or just cuddling up on the couch. And hey, I've got great recall, so you can bet I'll stick close by your side! 🌟 So, if you think I might be the perfect fit for your crew, don't hesitate to reach out to my adoption coordinator. Story
To give a dog the name "Rocky Balboa" must mean they are the greatest of all time, the best of all time, and the champion of all dogs out there because we wouldn't just give any dog that name. He's named after one of the greatest characters of all time so he must be a force to be reckoned with. Rocky Balboa is every shepherd lovers dream! I personally am a sucker for the big meaty head types and Rocky impressed me so much that it made me question my loyalties to the meatheads. Rocky is smart as a whip, quick on this feet, knows how to adjust his energy needs to what you need them to be, adventurous, dog friendly, a work from home buddy, etc. I could go on and on about how incredible Rocky Balboa is so you just need to see for your self and watch his video: https://youtu.be/kmZg3eFzvBE?si=qEvRqWBhAsep7pPZ Rocky Balboa is a German Shepherd mix approximately 4 years old and currently weighs 75 lbs. Now, Rocky is a rescue dog and we can't guarantee the breed exactly but just based off his looks we are fairly certain Rocky has some GSD in there somewhere. We would love for him to find a home with someone who has a little GSD experience under their belt --- someone who gets their fun loyal spirit and is ready for a loving, adventurous companion. Rocky is very dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced him to. Wanna know who he has a crush? Her name is Livvy and she is a little 30 lb firecracker pittie girl that loves to play and is a happy go-lucky girl that is very tolerant and also is a little pesky. Kinda in a little sister pestering her older big brother way. That's even how Livvy is with Rocky and he had was not bothered by her doing that at all. I honestly think he liked it. He didn't try to correct her and wasn't bothered by her bumping into him, jumping on him and he loved playing with her. Rocky plays like a total shepherd! He likes to play chase, wrestle, and likes to gently wrestle with his mouth as well with a dog that is equally matched and a dog that enjoys that as well. In his video you see him and the little yellow dog (Livvy) mouthing each other, play "biting", and you see Rocky occasionally putting his whole mouth over Livvy's neck. LOL her neck was soaked after that play session to by the way! That is just one of the many ways Rocky likes to play and that is what we mean by "he plays like a typical GSD." In a home, he would be best match with a dog that has a similar temperament to that of Livvy. A fun, happy, confident female that likes to play, enjoys rowdy play and also a dog that appreciates the calmer hangout moments too. Rocky isn't all about play either and would be great with a lady friend that isn't playful. He is respectful around dogs that don't want to play and he is completely happy and content chilling outside and enjoying the fresh air together or relaxing inside on their dog beds. He knows when to take play breaks and is more people focused so when he does play with another dog, he really likes him. Making him a great dog to have if you don't have other animals. He doesn't need the company of another dog to keep him company nor does he need another dog to help him feel comfortable. He is a confident and happy guy all on his own and would be happy to be the center of your attention. He would also be best in a home with no kitty friends! Rocky is probably one of the smartest dogs I have ever met! He already knows how to fetch and knows the command "Drop" when you're ready to get the toy from him. He also knows how to sit and is very treat motivated. He will do anything for a treat and loves the challenge! I had him jumping on tires and running under tires, and through agility equipment in no time and he loved it! Not to say that you have to do these things with him but he does love a good challenge and likes to show off how smart he is. I can also see Rocky being a great adventure partner! He loved exploring all the smells on our walk and also from what I can see has a pretty great recall already. He would come every time I called. So if you're someone that likes to go hiking, camping, take trips to the beach, and just have an adventurous soul you need Rocky Balboa to go with you! He'll make all of those experiences that much more enjoyable. After an adventure, you'll find Rocky either snuggling on the couch, bed, or even on his own dog bed taking a nap or quietly chewing on his toy. He has no problem making himself feel right at home and will lay right on top of you if you let him. I mean who doesn't love GSD snuggles. If you work from home, I can see him being a great buddy to have around because he didn't bother me or even my coworker the entire time he was in our office. He just laid there on his bed and quietly chewed his toy and kept to him self. There honestly isn't much I don't see Rocky being able to do. He's so great and capable of doing anything with his family. When it comes to kids, Rocky is the best! Yet again, another amazing quality he possesses. He has been around kids ages 4 and 13 and let me tell you, he's a family dog! He immediately took to both of them the second he walked into the room. You would think with his size that he would be knocking the kids over, especially the 4 year old and he never once jumped or knocked them down. Rocky took treats so gently and even listened to the 4 year old when he asked him to sit. One thing that also really impressed us was how gentle he was with them and playing with toys. Rocky loves toys and loves to play tug of war. When the 13 year old was inviting him in for a game of tug of war, he was happy to play with her and was SO gentle and mindful! He also seemed like he didn't want to take the toy and wanted to make sure it was okay. Even then, he was so aware of it all. We believe Rocky will be a great companion for a family that has kids. He really is the greatest of all time! We are willing to test Rocky with anything you need us to in oder to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
This is Teddy. But you can call him yours! Teddy is currently 3 months old, and we think he may be a German Sheperd / Labrador Retriever mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Teddy is soooooo soft like velvet. It’s one of the first things I noticed about him. He is very affectionate but not overbearing. He wants to give kisses but only if youll accept him! When I took him out of his crate, he wasn’t bouncing around crazy, he just sat down and waited for me to put his leash on. I never even heard him bark! When we came inside to hang out, Teddy made himself comfy on the couch and looked out the window, like he was just watching TV at home. It was so funny! He is treat motivated and already knows how to sit. It was hard to resist his little puppy eyes when he was begging for a bite of another staff members yogurt, lol! Of course Teddy got all of the treats, because let’s face it, you wouldn’t be able to say no to him either!! I have lots and lots to say about this guy. Go ahead and listen to his video and come back to apply for him! Watch Teddy's video here: https://youtu.be/xy_Mv7HUbUI?si=sRMede7sIPpF1uT7 Teddy is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Teddy's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68085e9f17461fea500c0ca5 Please email tim@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics, and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.
