Story
Meet Boomer! He is a 3 year old, sweet boy that came from an Amish puppy mill. His whole life had been stuck in a kennel used only for breeding. He is ready to find his happily ever after!   Boomer has done really well in his foster home! But he will need a patient adopter who understands he is still figuring things out and new places can be scary. He loves other dogs, is good with cats, and is learning to love human interaction. He really wants to trust and be loved! And after the life he has had, he deserves it so much.    Boomer would do best in a home without small children. The fast movements and noise are a little overwhelming for him.    Since being in our care we have learned that Boomer does have seizures. At this time the vet has not started him on medication. They have been sporadic. His exam and bloodwork all looked good. So we have held off on daily meds until it becomes more of an issue. This is something that an adopter will have to monitor closely. (We will also start medication while in our care should it progress to that point!)    Boomer is doing well with housetraining, crate training and socialization. He will need work on a leash so we will require his forever home have a physically fenced in yard for him to safely explore. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and HW negative.    If interested in adopting Boomer please visit our website and complete an adoption application: Adoptables — Purebred Rescue Organization of Ohio   His adoption fee is $350  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Due to the volume of apps and inquiries, we may not be able to respond to everyone.January 20, 2026, 8:44 am

Story
Say Hi to Redmond! This sweet, 5 year old, male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel came to us after spending the beginning of his life in a puppy mill. He is now ready to find his first loving family!   Redmond is a sweet, shy boy who needs a family that will give him patience and grace as he continues to navigate life outside of a kennel. He loves running around outside, laying by the fire (major bonus points if you have a fireplace ;) ), and is learning to love attention from his people. His foster home has done a great job socializing him!    He does well with other dogs, fine with cats and would do best in an adult only home (or with kids over 10) as young kids move too fast and bring too much noise for his liking.    Redmond does have a very low grade heart murmur (1-2) but it is not causing him any issues. He plays just fine, underwent anesthesia for his neuter without issue, it will just need monitored at his yearly vet appointments.   Redmond is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and HW negative. He is also doing well with house training, crate training and his socialization. He will need work on a leash and as such we require his adopter have a physically fenced in yard (no electric fences!).    If you are interested in adopting Redmond please visit our website and complete an adoption application! Adoptables — Purebred Rescue Organization of Ohio   His adoption fee is $350  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Boomer – Your Adorable Cavapoo with a Big Personality! Boomer is an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel–Poodle mix (Cavapoo) who’s equal parts loyal companion and playful buddy. He loves being with his person—whether that’s going for walks, riding along in the car to new places, or snuggling on a lap while keeping an eye out the window. And when the mood strikes, he’ll zoom around the backyard and make you laugh with his goofy bursts of energy. Personality & Temperament Boomer is affectionate and easygoing much of the time, but he takes his role as protector seriously and can be wary of strangers. He’s also a strong-willed, stubborn boy—so he’ll do best with someone experienced who can set clear boundaries and help build his confidence. Home Needs Fenced yard required Can be an only dog but he would also enjoy an easy going playmate No children (he’s not fully comfortable with kids) Good with cats &#226&#154&#161 Energy & Training Boomer has an above average energy level. He enjoys walks, backyard play, and mental stimulation to keep him busy. He does well on housetraining if kept on a routine (he doesn’t signal to go out) and eats twice daily. Best Home Boomer would thrive in a somewhat active home with someone who’s home often, patient, and experienced with dogs who need guidance. He’s a work in progress, but with consistency, structure, and love, he’ll reward you with deep loyalty, laughs, and endless companionship. If you’re looking for a smart, adorable Cavapoo with a big heart and a little spunk, Boomer may just be your perfect match. Boomer’s adoption donation is $550 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative on heartworm and started on prevention, as well as flea/tick prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  December 11, 2025, 11:05 am
