She’s a nearly four-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a playful side! She’s a breeder release girl, so she’ll take a bit to settle into a home, but my initial take is that it will go more quickly than with the average breeder release. She is already playing with the other dogs in our home, especially the puppy. She’s the most mobile and spry Cavalier we’ve fostered. While she loves other dogs, she’s still shy of people, but we are making great progress after only one day. The 3-3-3 rule of rescue dogs indicates the first three days are all about decompressing. The first three weeks are all about settling in and bonding. The first three months are for building trust. It comes faster for some dogs and slower for others. This girl seems to be starting down the fast track! The real positives? House trained! No accidents in the house! No barking!A challenge? She doesn’t understand a leash at all. We’ll be working on that. Mabel does require a fenced yard to keep her safe. Mabel is 3 yrs 9 months old, she weighs 19 pounds, her adoption fee is $400 plus sales tax $18=$418 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental and microchipping.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 21, 2025, 10:45 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a darling little cavalier in search of her forever family. She is still a bit hesitant about receiving human touch and affection but is slowly learning that it's not meant to be a bad thing. Susie loves the other dogs in her foster home and mingles well with everyone. She is working hard on her house training. Susie does not show any evidence (heart murmur) of MVD at this time, but it is something to be aware of for all cavaliers.    ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences. Susie needs a confident resident dog in her forever home to help show her the ropes and boost her confidence.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. November 13, 2025, 2:37 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Lexi was so terrified when she first arrived to SFCR but has made such great progress while in rescue.  Lexi came to us from a very unfortunate breeding situation. Lexi relies on the other dogs in her foster home for confidence and they've helped her significantly.  She is crate trained and doing well with housetraining.   ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences.
