Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

He's a bit rambunctious with younger dogs but knows how to be calmer with older dogs. Good with kids: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Temperament: Friendly and ready for adventures with his person! He's playful and energetic but has the ability to slow down and enjoy time on a park bench or the couch. Shadow came to God's Dogs via ACS. He was adopted by a busy/energetic household, however his prey drive toward their chickens became a problem. Any skills like SIT or DOWN: He knows how to sit, stay, "house" to go in the kennel, and walk nicely on a leash. Favorite toy: chuck it ball, Kong frisbee, and rope toys. Favorite rub spot: He likes butt scratches. Looking for a wonderful dog?? Here he is!!!
