Story
Aldo is an approximately 2-3 year old chihuahua that was hit by a car in 2023 and left at the side of the road. He was so lucky to be found by a caring person who rushed him to the vet to help him. Amazingly he did not have any broken bones. Once recovered from his wounds, he needed help learning how to walk again but unfortunately did not have access to supported recovery, so he learned to drag himself around to move from place to place. This resulted in skin wounds and injuries. Since being with Mountainside, Aldo has been learning to walk and not drag. He has gone through rehabilitation to build up the strength in his hind end which was completely atrophied. With love and care from his current foster, he is encouraged to walk and is getting much stronger. He loves people so much as well as other dogs and cats. Aldo is learning to play with his friends and very much enjoys being a lap dog wherever possible. His favourite moves are chin and belly rubs.

🐾✨ Meet Haneui — A Calm, Gentle, and Affectionate Little Lady ✨🐾 📍 Location: Korea 🇰🇷 (able to fly once adopted ✈️) 🐶 Name: Haneui 🎂 Age: 5 years (estimated, born 2021) ♀️ Gender: Female (spayed) ⚖️ Weight: 7 kg (approx. 15 lb) 🐕 Breed: Long-haired Chihuahua × Dachshund mix (estimated) 🎨 Color: Black & White --- 🧡 Personality & Social Skills Haneui is a very gentle, people-loving dog with a soft and affectionate nature. She enjoys human companionship and often approaches first to ask for pets. 👩 With women: Excellent — friendly and trusting 👨 With men: Very good — no fear; at a short-term foster home, she bonded most closely with the dad 👶 With kids: Excellent — does well with kindergarten- and elementary-age children; allows handling and walks calmly even when a child holds the leash 🐶 With dogs: On walks, she may feel nervous around unfamiliar dogs and prefer to turn back if they approach. However, with dogs she lives with, she adjusts over time and coexists peacefully. 🐱 With cats: No direct experience yet. She may be slightly cautious at first. --- 🏠 Energy Level & Lifestyle Haneui has a low energy level and enjoys a calm, relaxed routine. She’s well suited for apartment living and quieter households. --- 🚽 Habits & Training ✔ Fully house-trained ✔ Can potty both indoors and outdoors ✔ If taken outside regularly, she prefers outdoor potty and will wait patiently ✔ Crate-trained and comfortable in a crate --- 🖐 Handling & Touch Haneui loves being touched and cuddled. She often comes over on her own asking to be petted and enjoys close contact with her people. --- 🔊 Barking Tendencies She may bark briefly when: Other animals nearby bark The doorbell rings A stranger first enters the home Once she adjusts, she stops barking and often approaches visitors calmly. Aside from these situations, she is generally very quiet. --- 🍽 Food & Health Notes Medical history: Heartworm (treated), past pancreatitis Diet: Must eat a pancreatitis-friendly prescription diet Treats: Limited — snack restriction required Appetite: Strong food motivation When other animals are present, she may eat quickly or guard food → Separated feeding is recommended She may pick up dropped human food, so supervision is needed --- 🐕 Leash Walking & Travel ✔ Walks very well with a collar and leash ✔ Rides well in cars (may pant slightly but remains calm) --- 🚪 Escape Tendencies Low overall risk, but in frightening situations, caution is advised and secure handling is recommended. --- 🧸 Destructive Behavior Rare when alone. Occasionally mimics other dogs’ behavior (e.g., tearing pee pads or tissues), but nothing severe. --- 🏡 Home Environment ✔ Apartment-friendly ✔ Yard not required ✔ Can live with other dogs (with proper adjustment time) --- 🌈 Rescue Story Haneui was found wandering alone in a rural village and taken to Iksan City Animal Shelter, where euthanasia is practiced. Thanks to rescue intervention, she was saved and given a second chance at life. Now, this sweet and quiet girl is patiently waiting for a forever family to call her own. --- 💛 Haneui is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy gentle affection, calm companionship, and a safe routine. If you’re searching for a small, affectionate, low-energy dog with a kind heart, Haneui may be the perfect match. 🐾

Story
Charlie   Age: 3 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Mix Color: Brown Weight: 8.05 kg Height: 32 cm     Rescue Story   Charlie was rescued from an extremely traumatic situation. After an elderly owner passed away, the home was found with deceased cats, one surviving cat, and Charlie — who had been left confined in the bathroom with a wire muzzle tied around his mouth.   After the scene was cleared by authorities and the landlord, Charlie was placed in temporary care and then transferred to a municipal shelter. Despite what he went through, Charlie has remained affectionate, intelligent, and deeply people-oriented.     ‍‍ With People   Charlie loves people and seeks connection.   • Approaches both familiar and new people with friendly body rubs • May be slightly shy at first, but warms up quickly with treats • Allows handling and enjoys being held when supported under the belly • Often shows his belly once comfortable — sometimes even to new people • Generally more comfortable with women • Can be fearful of some men and needs patient, calm introductions     With Other Dogs   Charlie is social and playful with other dogs.   • Greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and invites them to play • Friendly with dogs both larger and similar in size • If another dog challenges him, he may respond — so careful introductions are important   Cats & Prey Drive   • Has lived in a multi-cat household for about 5 months • On walks, he may stare at cats but will follow his handler • Shows prey drive toward birds   Energy & Activity   Charlie has medium to high energy and has athletic ability.   • Loves outdoor activity and play • Settles well after proper exercise • Needs daily physical and mental stimulation   He has even kept up with Border Collies and Malinois for hours of play — he is small but mighty.     On Walks   • Walks well on leash without pulling • Loves to sniff and may stop often to explore     At Home   • Uses both pee pads and outdoor potty • Calm and well-behaved in a kennel • Gets in and out of the car on his own • May bark at unfamiliar people     Food & Training   • Not food-protective toward people • May growl if another dog approaches while he is eating • Extremely food-motivated — excellent for training     Play, Training & Intelligence   Charlie is smart, athletic, and playful.   • Loves fetch, tug, and chasing toys • Prefers soft toys like socks and plushies • Enjoys puzzle toys and food-dispensing toys • Strong bite strength — toys wear out quickly   He has even won local competitions for: “Sit & Stay” “Find the Treat”   He thrives in homes that enjoy training, agility, and interactive play.     The Right Home   He needs: A confident, consistent handler Daily exercise and mental stimulation Structured introductions to new dogs and people   In return, he becomes deeply loyal, funny, energetic, and emotionally bonded to his person — a true partner for someone who enjoys an active life with their dog.   Charlie is ready to give his whole heart to the person who gives him stability, leadership, and love. Story
Hiya! My name is MOY. Me and my pal POPEYE are a BONDED PAIR and MUST go to a home together! Here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Chihuahua mix Age: Approx. 1 year old Gender: Male Weight: 8.4 lbs (3.7 kg)  Height: 33 cm (paws to shoulders), 43 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 48 cm (head to butt) Neck: 23 cm Chest: 38 cm Current Location:  Mexico City RESCUE STORY - Me and Popeye were rescued together two months ago. We used to live on the street with a few homeless alcoholics. It’s believed we taken from somewhere else, as the homeless people didn't have us one day and then showed up with us the next. Unfortunately, we were mostly tied up and had little chances to move. Me and Popeye were kept hungry and dirty. At rescue, we were both dirty and underweight but fortunately, had no serious health issues. Our rescuers have searched for our "original owners" (if we had any) but nobody has come to claim us. SO... now we're hoping and praying that a lovely family in the Pacific North West will want to give us both a loving home together! After all we've been through, we have kinda "trauma bonded" together and are inseparable now. I get pretty stressed out when we are separated (video). TEMPERAMENT - I am friendly and very affectionate with people I know and trust (video) and am more reserved with people I have never met (video, video 2, video 3). I am pretty chill (for a chihuahua) and don't appear to bark much or show any aggressive behaviours. I am curious when outdoors and hope to have more opportunities to explore nature when we go to our forever home. I am dog friendly and absolutely need my buddy Popeye as my companion; we walk (video), play, eat, cuddle (video, video 2), and sleep next to each other. We have shown that we are essentially each other's "emotional support animal", so our rescuers want us to be adopted together.   We were only recently rescued (Sept. 2025) from pretty unsafe and unstable conditions, where our movements were quite restricted. We are getting used to the new environment of the shelter. When together, we are way more confident. I think the ideal adopter for me and Popeye should be aware that we will need some time to get used to a new home, but also expect us to grow into very affectionate, playful furry companions with time! :) ENERGY LEVEL - Low - Both Popeye and I are pretty chill, low energy dudes! Once comfortable in our new home, I'm sure we'll come out of our shells a bit, but I don't think we'll ever be crazy energetic boys. GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. Dogs –  Yup! At the shelter, Popeye and I live with dogs of all sizes. We get along with everybody. We eat together with other dogs and show no resource guarding. We can be a bit uneasy when meeting doggos when on leash, but you can see here we warm up pretty quickly. Proper introductions on leash (parallel walks etc.) and advocating for our space will be essential to us getting comfortable! Cats – Unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress! I don't get to go out on walks very often, so I will need some leash work (video). I'm curious when outdoors and don't appear to be bothered by fast driving cars or noise. I am hoping to find an adopter to help me become more confident and find the joy of going out on walks! Here are some videos of me and Popeye walking together on leash (video, video2). A calm, confident owner will be helpful in us learning to walk confidently! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.  ADOPTION FEE: My bonded pair adoption fee (with Moy) is $1,568.00 CAD including tax ($1400 + 5% GST and 7% PST), which includes both of our adoption fees, vet costs, and airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate. Meet Bappul 💛 💙 Bappul’s News Account: @4_ever_home__ 1.) Health Condition * Not spayed yet. 2.) Rescue Story * Bappul was rescued from the Gimje City Shelter when an Adogs volunteer was there to help prepare the facilities for the harsh winter. She was urgently rescued from the shelter, where cold winter winds were blowing and contagious diseases were spreading. 3.) Basic Information ❗ As she is still a young puppy, she may exhibit separation anxiety, mouthing/nipping, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling, or barking. Will require consistent patience and training. ❗ Since her parents are unknown, it is difficult to predict her adult size or shedding level. * With People: Is a little shy but likes people in general and approaches with her tail wagging. Isn’t yet used to human touch and avoids hands, but you can pet her if you approach carefully and slowly. * With Dogs: Approaches other dogs carefully to say hi. Mixes well and has fun playing the big dog she stays with. * With Cats: Hasn’t met them yet. * Separation Anxiety: Whines a bit when left alone, but it isn’t severe and she is fine alone. Also does well when left with another dog. Expresses curiosity when left with a stranger, staying relaxed. * Potty Training: Goes potty indoors and has a 100% success rate aside from an upset stomach or unusual situations. * Hygiene: Is good with baths and brushing. Is a little scared of the sound of the blow dryer. Isn’t familiar with tooth brushing yet. * Walks: Has no experience yet since she hasn’t had all her vaccines. * Car Sickness: Vomitted a little bit during her first car ride since she was very nervous. After that experience, she didn’t show signs of car sickness and was fine during a long-distance train ride. * Doesn’t bite people but she’s a teething puppy so she nibbles on objects. * Doesn’t whine but gives a natural alert bark a bit when hearing unfamiliar outside noises. * Has a great appetite and loves food. * Is still unfamiliar with human touch and avoids it. * Can ‘sit.’
