Story
Cherry is one of more than 25 little dogs left behind after an eviction — a heartbreaking situation that left them scared, unsure, and just trying to survive together. They’ve all come a long way since being rescued. At first, everything was new and overwhelming, but now they’re slowly learning what love feels like — warm beds, gentle hands, and soft voices. Each one has a shy heart that just wants to trust again. Cherry is ready to bond with one special person — someone patient, kind, and willing to show them that humans can be safe. Once that trust is built, the love they give back is pure magic. If you have room in your heart and home, please consider adopting one of these little souls. They’ve been through so much and truly deserve to finally be loved, safe, and home.

Story
Hi, Im Yoli. I was rescued from Mexico after I was nearly hit by a car on a busy street, and Ive been grateful for every moment since. Im the kind of girl who loves people with my whole heart. If youre nearby, I want to be right next to you. If youre sitting, Id love to curl up beside you. And if you need love, I have plenty to give. Im sweet, affectionate, and happiest when Im with my humans. I survived something scary, but now Im ready for something beautiful: a forever family who wants a loyal, loving companion. If youre looking for a girl who will adore you every single day, Im your Yoli. Please visit our website desertpawssanctuary.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Meet Myles – The Retired Professor of Chihuahua Studies If you’ve ever wished for a dog that looks like he’s been through at least three world wars, has a resting “back in my day” face, and could double as a grumpy-but-sweet cartoon character, congratulations—you’ve just found your match. Meet *Myles*, a 14-year-old crusty chihuahua who will make you smile without even trying. Myles isn’t here to run marathons, learn TikTok dances, or help you “find yourself” on a hiking trail. Nope. He’s here to be exactly what he is: a charmingly decrepit old man who likes his meals on time, his naps uninterrupted, and his head scratched *just so*. He’ll bark when you’re preparing dinner (his version of Uber Eats tracking your order), wander around the house like he’s looking for the TV remote, and cough occasionally like your great-uncle who refuses to give up cigars—the result of trachea damage, but rest assured, he’s managing just fine. Let’s be real: Myles is not housebroken. He tries, sometimes. But mostly, he’s a “when you gotta go, you gotta go” kind of guy. He doesn’t like crates (and really, at 14, who wants to live in a cage?), but he’ll happily snooze on a dog bed… with a bonus surprise waiting for you in the morning. He’s not a velcro dog, but he is sweet, chill, and occasionally accepts pets and head scratches like a king granting an audience. He’s hard of hearing, has cataracts, and creaks like an old rocking chair—but that just makes him all the more endearing. Myles is looking for a quiet, understanding home with someone who can appreciate the humor and heart of living with a senior chihuahua who’s basically the canine equivalent of that old man who falls asleep in his recliner with the TV on. If you’re ready to give this little legend the retirement he deserves (and can laugh at the occasional accident), Myles will reward you with daily doses of pure, senior joy.

Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I have recently taken in my boyfriend's mother and she came with a dog that we can't make get along with our cats. This causes him to have to stay in a cage which triggers his separation anxiety causing him to pee and scream. Its sad to see and I'd like to find a more suitable home for him. He is very cuddly and obnoxiously sweet. He is the definition of a lap dog and will never let the right person be out of his sight for a moment. He gets along with the other dogs, but does have food bowl aggression towards them if they don't mind his space while eating. We've had him for 5 months and have tried with multiple people to rehome him all in failed attempts since they last minute brought up having cats. This is our last attempt before taking him to the pound which I was hoping to avoid, but we just don't have the materials to make him work in our home any longer.
