Story
Jean Claude joined our rescue this summer. He is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchip, and heartworm negative. Currently being fostered with a beagle companion, he would benefit from a home with a well mannered canine role model. He bonds quickly with his person, and can exhibit some typical chi behaviors including guarding or posturing. An ideal home would have expierence with the Chi breed, a loving dog friend to help him adjust, and a patient owner than can help him overcome some fear based reactions. After just a few days in a foster home he is already very loving and friendly. He is starting to engage with his foster brother and figuring out that he is safe and loved and never going back to the shelter. JC is being fostered in Wilmington, NC. This is Hazel. Hazel is tiny and adorable, but she has very specific lists of things she does and does not like. Hazel likes: Slow introductions to new people Playing fetch with her tiny ball Taking VERY long walks Chewing on her tiny ball Belly rubs Ripping the fur off her tiny ball Hazel dislikes: Sudden movements Veterinary care Other dogs Squirrels (must chase) Car rides (but she's working on it) Hazel is a sweet little thing who is fully potty trained and pretty quiet when left to her own devices. She will protect and guard you from everything - strangers, squirrels, other dogs, birds, falling leaves, etc. She is apartment-sized, but not suited to living near lots of strange people or dogs. Hazel cannot live with small children or dogs - she is terrified of them and can become aggressive when scared. We have not tried her with cats, but she has a very strong prey drive, so we wouldn't recommend it. If you decide that Hazel is the tiny terror for you, you will not be disappointed. She will be your only pet, BUT has enough personality for both of you - she is funny, she truly enjoys long walks, and she REALLY loves playing with her ball. Hazel is about 3 years old, about 8 lbs, very active, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed.

We are moving and are unable to take Ramon... we don't want to part with him, but are out of options. He is older, but still as feisty as a chihuahua can be. No history of bites. But he does like to play fight when riled up. He loves napping on warm people, and like mist chihuahua, shivers alot, even when bundled up. We really want him to go to a good home, so are giving him for free, as long as he is loved and cared for.
