Story
Taffy is one of our longer term residents due to being extremely scared and shy. She can be sweet and likes to take treats, but she is going to need a very patient, gentle person or family to help her acclimate to a new home. There is at least one volunteer here that can pet on her and pick her up, she just needs a good bit of time to get there with new people.  She is not recommened for kids under 12 and does have a past bite history. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application. Fill out an application at the link below.  Find the dog/cat you are interested in and click the adopt button.  That will take you to an application.  Once approved you will be called for an appointment to meet your possible new family member, or at that time you can meet the other animals as well.  You must include 3 references with phone numbers for you application to be processed.  https://petstablished.com/public/search/shelter/301551 Adoption fee is $150 for all dogs over 6 months old, $200 for large breed puppies under 6 months, $250 for small breed puppies.  All adoptions include, spay/neuter, vaccines, a heartworm test, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park.  For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt.  They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog.  We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane.  We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances.  Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle.  We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver.   ##1639775##

Story
Hi there, I'm Nadine, a sweet and teeny-tiny (8lbs) little chihuahua girl who's looking for a forever home. If you're looking for a pint-sized pup who wants to spend every moment together-- I'm your girl! I'm dreaming of an adopter who will give me all of the companionship, bedtime snuggles, and attention that I deserve! I was rescued by Beagle Freedom Project from a high-kill shelter where I was dumped after being hit by a car. Once Beagle Freedom Project heard my story, they knew they had to save me! Since being taken in by BFP, I’ve undergone a major surgery to repair my broken pelvis and knees, and I’ve recovered beautifully! I’m so happy to get to run again (sometimes I even like to break into a sprint!!). Now, I’ve been learning what it's like to be loved for the first time. I'm a total doll who bonds deeply with the people close to me, and I also like to enjoy my independence, too! Sometimes, I can even be pretty cat-like; spending my time on my own terms, but then always coming back to you for love and pets when I’m in the mood! I don't particularly adore other animals (I'm tiny and non-threatening, but I just like to have my own space from dogs and cats-- probably because I think I'm a human!!), so I'll do best in a home where I can be the apple of my adopter's eye. I'm still adjusting to this new life that I've fallen into-- one where people actually love me and take care of me-- so I can get anxious at times, because I'm so scared of being left behind. Could you be the person who shows me that I'll always be safe now? I'm I'm only 2 years old, and I have a whole lot of life to look forward to-- I hope I get to spend it with an adopter who will cherish me... could that be with you? 🏡 My Home’s Requirements: I'll thrive as the only dog in my furever home! 📍 My Location: LOS ANGELES, CA Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed above! Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter can travel to the animal’s current location for pickup. If you’re interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/adopt/ For questions, email the Beagle Freedom Project team at: adopt@bfp.org About Beagle Freedom Project: Beagle Freedom Project is the world’s leading organization for rescuing and rehoming animals used in experimental research. Story
I rescued Boomer in late April of this year. I just couldn't resist his face. I wanted an older dog for my husband and I, hoping that my hubby would go out and walk him. My husband has a rare muscular disease similar to ALS. He was then using a walker but would have been able to take Boomer out. Unfortunately his disease has progressed way faster than we anticipated. He is now completely imobile. I would so love to keep Boomer however, I had a total knee replacement done in late October and have had complications with the surgery. I will be out of commission for at least another 4 months. I am also my husbands only caregiver. Boomer is a very good, sweet, and loving dog! He was diagnosed with heart worm and has been fully treated. I so wish that a good family or loving person could adopt him. He loves to cuddle with you and just chill. Please someone help us.
