Story
Hi there, I’m Bear — a handsome black-and-white Chiweenie / Black Lab mix with a big personality packed into my 30-pound frame. 🐾🖤🤍 I’m about 2 years old, and once you get to know me, you’ll see I’ve got equal parts energy, confidence, and affection to share.I’m a total pro for baths and nail trims (no drama here!), and I get along great with cats, dogs of all sizes, and the elderly. I absolutely adore children and love to hop around with them! I’m a high-energy guy who loves to check everything out 👀—running, playing, and exploring are some of my favorite things. Snow days? Yes, please! ❄️ I’ve got a bit of an alpha personality, but I’m also smart and responsive. I do really well with clicker training, which makes learning new things fun and easy for both of us.I can be a little shy at first, but don’t worry—give me some gentle reassurance, a little patience, and a few yummy treats, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. 💕 Once I warm up, I’m incredibly affectionate and generous with kisses. I also love car rides 🚗 and make a great travel buddy. If you’re looking for an energetic, loving companion who’s ready to run, play, cuddle, and ride shotgun on life’s adventures, I just might be your guy. 📞 Call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to learn more about me or come meet me in person — I can’t wait to make your day a little brighter! 🐶✨****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Hi!! I’m Barley 🐾🤍I’m a 9-month-old tan and white Chiweenie (that’s Chihuahua + Dachshund for anyone keeping score 😉) and I weigh about 18 pounds of pure snuggle power. If you’re looking for a dog who believes personal space is optional… I’m your guy. My favorite place in the whole world is in your arms, tucked against your chest, giving hugs and sneaky little kisses. 💕Before I came to the shelter, I was abandoned and left to fend for myself. That part wasn’t very fun. Thankfully, a kind older woman found me and took me in. She loved me very much and hoped to keep me forever, but due to some health issues, she made the very hard and selfless decision to bring me here so I could find a home where I could have the best life possible. She wanted more for me. 🥹The good news? I am now fully house trained and crate trained. I keep my space tidy and settle down nicely in my crate when needed. I’m a smart little guy and eager to please! Now let’s talk personality… I may be small, but I have BIG energy! I zoom. I bounce. I play like it’s my full-time job. 🏃‍♂️💨 I love stuffed animals (especially if I can parade them around proudly), squeaky toys that make lots of noise, and puzzle toys with hidden treats inside — those are my favorite brain games! Treats in general? Yes please! Milk-Bones and Kibbles ‘n Bits will absolutely win my heart. 🦴😋 When playtime is over, I turn into a professional blanket burrower. I will dig, spin, and tuck myself in like the little cozy burrito I am. 🌯🛏️I know how to walk on a leash and do just fine… but if I’m being honest, I’d much rather be carried. If you let me, I would happily live in your arms or curled up in your lap all day long. Being close to my person is my favorite thing ever. 🤍 I get along great with the elderly, other dogs, and even cats! I do not care for small children, as I like my boundaries respected, but I may do well with older kids who understand how to be gentle and give me space when I need it. I also ride wonderfully in the car and would happily tag along on any adventure — errands, road trips, coffee runs… I’m ready! 🚗🐶My ideal home will have someone who can give me lots of love, continued guidance, and plenty of cuddle time. I promise to repay you with endless affection, zoomie entertainment, and the warmest snuggles you’ve ever had. If you think I might be your perfect little sidekick, you can call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me. I’ll be here… probably wrapped in a blanket, waiting for my forever arms. 🤍🐾****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
