Story
Meet Bowie, a spunky, affectionate Chihuahua-mix breed, who is a little gentleman ready to play with you. Standing proud at 14 pounds, this dad has been through a lot and has come out the other side with nothing but kindness to give. He arrived from another shelter with his little family in rough shape, riddled with mange and clearly needing a safe place to heal. Bowie is feeling better now, and you can literally see the good days returning as his coat grows back in. Now that his pups are in good shape, too, Bowie is more than ready to get out, stretch his legs, and enjoy life—play yards, walks, sniffing adventures, and, most of all, a home where he can finally relax for good. If you’re looking for a lovable buddy with a playful personality, Bowie is ready to be your sidekick. Bowie is located in Hondo, Texas. Bowie is Heart worm + but will be treated prior to adoption. Bowie is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 20th with approved application and confirmed adoption. His adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Molly, a petite, soft-hearted long-coat Chihuahua mix is ready for a quieter life where she can finally feel safe and loved. At 17 pounds and just about 2 years old, Molly has all the makings of a little best friend—gentle, sweet, and happiest when she’s close to her person. Molly was found on the expressway, and while we don’t know much about her past, we can tell you this: She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She can be a little nervous when hands come in for pets, as if she’s still learning that kindness is the rule now—not the exception. With a patient adopter and a soft lap, she settles in beautifully and will continue to thrive with someone who’s home a lot and has time to help her continue to build the confidence she has already started to show. Molly’s eyes have shown some tear staining, but we’re already working on it, and it doesn’t take away from what she truly is: A beautiful little soul who just wants to be cherished. Molly will not do well in a home where people are gone all the time. She’s the kind of girl who’s looking for a lifestyle with couch time, companionship, and calm comfort—the simple things that mean everything to a dog who’s been through too much. Molly is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 20th with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes transport cost. Molly is Heart worm + but will be treated. If you would like to apply for Molly, you can apply online at tracyspawsrescue.org. Story
Meet Cornbread! This adorable 8–9-week-old puppy is already nearly the same size as his mom—and she only weighs about 11–12 pounds! Cornbread was found alongside his sweet mother at the Weslaco shelter in deep South Texas, with no other siblings in sight. While we don’t know who dad was, our best guess is he may have been in the 20–25 pound range—but that’s purely speculation based on Cornbread’s impressive size already. It’s honestly hard to believe this little guy is only a couple of months old considering how quickly he’s growing, but one thing is certain: Cornbread is an absolute sweetheart. He is currently thriving in a wonderful foster home, where he’s doing great with all the basics and soaking up love and guidance. Cornbread would do wonderfully in a family with children or with an active home that can provide the exercise, structure, and affection every growing puppy needs. Just one look at his video, and you’ll see exactly what we do—a sweet, lovable boy ready to find a forever family all his own. Cornbread is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 20th with approved application and confirmed adoption. His adoption fee is $500. The fee includes transport cost. Story
Meet Reagan – Tiny, Sweet, and Ready to Steal Your Heart! Reagan is an adorable little Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix puppy, estimated to have been born in November 2025, making her about 5–6 months old. At just 5.4 pounds, this tiny girl likely won’t get much bigger—and yes, she’s small enough to tag along just about anywhere, including your purse! Reagan came to us after being found on the streets alongside her mother, Pepper, who is also still looking for her forever home. Despite her rough start, Reagan’s loving spirit shines brightly. She is currently being treated for an eye injury, and we suspect her hearing may be limited, but none of that stops this precious girl from being incredibly affectionate, gentle, and full of love. Reagan gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets and absolutely loves cats! She would thrive in a home where she can enjoy the comfort, safety, and love every puppy deserves—preferably curled up in your lap. This sweet little girl belongs in a forever home, not in rescue. If you think Reagan could be the perfect addition to your family, apply today on our website by clicking here. Reagan is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 20th with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450.
