Story
Fane is a happy, fun little fellow, 2 years old and weighs just 15 lbs. Just look at those big, dark and mesmerizing eyes… If anyone can get a treat from you, it’s sure to be him! Fane loves attention and playing outside (when it is warm enough) and would love a home with another young, small dog to romp around with since he absolutely loves playing with friends! He can be nervous around larger dogs at first and in any case a home with similar sized dog would be best for him. After play he settles down nicely and likes to cuddle too! He is a good boy that ended up at an overcrowded shelter in the south due to no fault of his own. He will be coming to New England in mid-December and is eager to start a new chapter of his young life. If think you might be interested in adopting, fostering to adopt or fostering this sweet little bundle of joy, please contact Village for Paws Rescue at villageforpawsrescue@gmail.com for more information or to fill out an application.

Story
Mr. Buttons (aka Pancake) is a 7 yr old absolutely adorable 11 lb neutered male chihuahua. Mr. Buttons does well with other animals and kids in foster. He sticks with his pack outdoors and is housetrained. Mr. Buttons does not require a crate as he's perfectly fine out with the other dogs in the home. We're working on, 'sit' with him and leash walking as he's not super familiar with a leashes job. He's super snuggly if you sit down with him. He adores people and most people adore him. Someone is gonna get very lucky with this best boy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2025, 1:44 pm

Story
Rosie is a 7 year old spayed female Chihuahua mix.  She is friendly, outgoing, and does OK with other dogs. She has been cat tested and was OK. She's been on a strict diet in rescue and has lost almost 30% of her body weight.  She needs to lose more.  She is crate and house trained and easy going.  A nice small dog for someone. She's fun to walk, and loves, loves, loves people! Rosie does take allergy medications. Please submit a completed application on our website with interest and inquiries. Story
Meet Dixie & Talia – a bonded pair! Dixie is a 12-year-old Chihuahua (nicknamed Piglet) who loves dog beds, plays hard, then naps hard. She’s mostly pad-trained, does well with a fenced yard, and takes Carprofen for mild arthritis but stays active. Together, these two are sweet, funny, and great with dogs, cats, and even poultry. They’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard to play and then snuggle. They come with beds, crate, toys, chews, meds, records, leashes, and collars. Adoption fee for the pair is $500.

Story
Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
