Story
This little guy has some serious main character features. First, there's the ears. We aren't entirely convinced Tipper Tater’s ears aren't secretly satellite dishes. They're adorable, expressive, and somehow always seem to be listening to absolutely everything. Then there are his eyes. One warm brown eye and one stunning ocean-blue eye that is so striking people can't help but stop and stare. He looks like someone designed the cutest little dog possible and then added a few extra special details just for fun. Watch his video and prepare to fall in love with those ears: https://youtu.be/UOH9Y3ytAGs?si=NAQG5Jj4qXWBr55p Tipper is approximately 1 year old, weighs around 14 lbs, and we believe he may be a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. With rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age. Tipper is dog friendly and has done well with all of the dogs we've introduced him to, both his size and much larger. From what we've seen so far, he isn't particularly interested in playing with other dogs. Instead, he seems perfectly content simply sharing space with them. Dogs can be playing nearby, running around, or doing their own thing and Tipper is happy to quietly coexist. He may discover a more playful side once he settles into a forever home, but right now he seems to be more of a peaceful companion than a party animal. Tipper also recently met our house cat, Biggie, and handled the introduction beautifully. He was respectful, polite, and showed no interest in chasing him. He wasn't bothered by Biggie jumping around or doing typical cat things, and Biggie seemed comfortable around Tipper as well. We do not know whether Tipper has ever lived with a cat before and this was our first time seeing him interact with one. If you have a cat in your home, we would be happy to arrange a kitty sleepover upon request so everyone can meet before making a commitment. One of our favorite things about Tipper is just how easy he is to be around. He has a gentle, quiet presence that makes him a very calming companion. He isn't demanding. He isn't constantly seeking attention. He's simply happy to be nearby, taking everything in and enjoying the comfort of a peaceful home. Tipper is crate trained and, from what we've seen so far, is very quiet in his crate. He's also potty trained and has been a wonderful little houseguest. He enjoys treats and takes them with the softest, most gentle mouth. He also seems interested in toys, although we're not entirely sure he knows what he's supposed to do with them yet. Sometimes he'll look at a toy like he's trying to solve a complicated puzzle. It's honestly pretty adorable. We have a feeling there are still lots of fun little pieces of his personality waiting to emerge once he feels fully comfortable and secure. Tipper is what we lovingly call a slow burn. He's not the type of dog who meets a stranger and immediately jumps into their lap demanding belly rubs. Instead, he likes to take his time. He wants to observe first. Watch from a safe distance. Learn your routine. Figure out who you are and whether you're trustworthy. There's something incredibly sweet about the way he approaches relationships because when he chooses to trust you, it feels meaningful. His ideal home will understand that he doesn't need to be rushed. He needs people who will let him move at his own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. The first time he chooses to approach you. The first tail wag. The first time he decides to curl up nearby because he's realized you're his person. Those moments are the ones that make dogs like Tipper so special. Because of his sensitive nature, we think Tipper would do best in a lower-energy home with a calmer environment. He's not looking for a busy social calendar or constant excitement. He's looking for a safe place to land, kind people, a predictable routine, and the opportunity to bloom into the wonderful little dog we know he is. We also feel a home with a yard would be a better fit than apartment living for him. If you're the kind of person who understands that the shy dogs often have the biggest hearts, Tipper just might be your perfect match. We are willing to test Tipper Tater with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Pie is a male 4 year old chihuahua in Stowe, VT. Pie is a silly rescue pup with a slight underbite, white socks, big ears and an even bigger heart! He loves giving kisses, playing fetch, running in the yard and sleeping under blankets. Pie loves when his small toys are thrown for him to chase. He enjoys adventures in the safety of his own yard but also loves to cuddle with the TV on. Pie enjoys a simple quiet routine of yard access, food in his bowl to graze on at his own leisure, treats, fetch and cuddling with lots of licks. Pie would thrive in a quiet home. He is good with dogs size <25lbs... We've noticed he gets anxious around bigger dogs but can acclimate with time. He does well with our toddler so long as he is given space. Pie is house trained but benefits from a pad if you plan on being out for extended period of time. He does not do well in the crate and is not a fan leashed walks. He enjoys an indoor lifestyle!

Story
🐾 Meet Rico 🐾 I met Rico on Friday morning after he made the long journey from Oregon to Vermont following a change in his family's circumstances. Despite everything he's been through, Rico has proven to be one of the sweetest, easiest dogs I've ever had the pleasure of fostering. At 13 years young, Rico may be a senior, but don't tell him that! He has settled in beautifully and has made friends with both people and dogs wherever he goes. He loves playing with my almost 2-year-old Boxer/Staffie mix and can easily hold his own with bigger dogs while fitting seamlessly into the pack. Rico is the definition of an easy companion. He walks like a dream on a leash, rides wonderfully in the car, and loves meeting new dogs on walks or at the dog park. He's always interested in being part of whatever you're doing and is eager to learn the routines and "house rules" of his new home. His favorite place is wherever you are. He loves cuddling, wagging his little tail, and quietly being by your side. He's not demanding or needy, he simply enjoys companionship and blends effortlessly into family life. The only thing Rico isn't quite sure about is the crate, which is understandable after such a big transition. What he really wants is a soft place to rest and people to love. Rico is well-mannered, funny, gentle, and an absolute joy to be around. He has quickly stolen our hearts, and I know he'll do the same for his future family. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who asks for very little and gives so much in return, Rico might just be your perfect match. ❤️

Story
Meet Timmy Turner! Timmy Turner is a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix (at least that's our best guess!) wrapped up in a tiny 7-pound package of scruffy cuteness. With his adorable wiry coat, oversized Chihuahua ears, expressive little face, and curious personality, Timmy looks like he walked straight out of a storybook. This little guy may be small, but he has a big personality and an even bigger sense of adventure. One of Timmy's favorite things is finding the highest spot in the room. If there's a couch, he'll be on the back of it. If there's a lap, he'll happily claim it. If there's a shoulder available, even better. His foster jokes that he acts a little bit like a cat, and honestly, they're not wrong. Timmy loves observing the world from above and keeping an eye on everything that's going on around him. Watch Timmy in action here! https://youtu.be/-usd1j3AjKc?si=cRe_DTqd8PSsrJLF Timmy is currently learning that life can be pretty wonderful. While he may take a minute to assess new people and situations, he's a confident little explorer who likes to investigate the world at his own pace. He's not the type to immediately throw himself into every situation—instead, he likes to gather the facts first and then decide how he feels about things. We think that's pretty smart. In his foster home, Timmy enjoys being close to his people and is perfectly lap-sized for movie nights, work-from-home days, and cozy evenings on the couch. Once he's comfortable, he's a sweet companion who enjoys simply being near his favorite humans. Timmy has done well meeting dogs of all sizes, from fellow small scruffy pups to much larger dogs weighing 60–80 pounds. While he's not particularly interested in roughhousing or playgroups, he's polite, respectful, and knows how to coexist beautifully with other dogs. His ideal canine companion would be another calm, respectful dog who understands that personal space is important sometimes. Timmy also met a kitty friend and did very well. He was curious enough to investigate but respectful enough to move on when the cat wasn't interested. He free-roamed comfortably around the cat and mostly decided that the cat wasn't all that exciting. Because every home is different, we would still recommend a slow introduction and possibly an overnight trial for homes with resident cats, but Timmy showed all the signs we like to see. Timmy can live as an only dog or with other dogs. If he shares a home with canine friends, he should be fed separately since he prefers not to share meals. Fortunately, he's easy to manage and otherwise coexists well with other pets. His perfect home would be one that appreciates quirky little dogs, cozy couch snuggles, and a companion with a little bit of personality. He's the kind of dog who will make you laugh with his cat-like habits, charm you with his scruffy good looks, and keep you company wherever life takes you. If you're looking for a tiny best friend with adorable ears, a curious spirit, and enough character to fill a dog ten times his size, Timmy Turner might just be your perfect match. Story
Meet Supreme! A tiny puppy with a truly big presence. At just around 2 pounds, he’s the largest of his litter, and he carries himself with a confidence that feels far bigger than his size. Supreme moves through the world like he owns it, curious and self-assured, with the kind of bold personality that makes him impossible to ignore. He has a beautiful black coat with warm tan paws and expressive little tan eyebrows that give him so much character. Like his siblings, he has the signature Chihuahua tremble, which only adds to his charm and makes him all the more endearing. Despite his confident nature, Supreme has a soft side that loves to come out during quiet moments. He enjoys snuggling close, soaking up warmth, and being near his people. He has a wonderful balance of independence and affection, making him a joy to be around! Supreme is expected to be around 12 pounds full grown. As a young puppy, he will need patience, consistency, and guidance as he learns and grows, but he has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Supreme is ready to find his place with you.
