Story
Meet Elf, the perfect companion you've been wishing for! This playful pup is a true social butterfly, getting along with both people and dogs alike. With a good mix of energy and affection, Elf is always up for fun and games, but also knows when it's time to snuggle up and relax. He's a smart boy who loves to express himself and will keep you entertained with his playful antics. At 1 year old, Elf is ready to find his forever home and bring joy and love to his new family. Could that be you? Elf would do best in a home without toddlers as he can be a little nippy at times. He is also currently potty pad trained, he could certainly learn to go outside he just needs a family willing to work with him and give him time. https://www.vermontenglishbulldogrescue.com/non-bulldog-application/

Story
Hi there! My name is Jackie, and I'm a small chihuahua with a sweet soul. I can be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my gentle personality shines through. I'm a well-mannered girl who's housebroken and knows how to use both a doggy door and potty pads. I get along nicely with other dogs and politely avoid cats. Because I'm sensitive and can be easily startled, I'd love a quiet, loving home without small children-somewhere I can feel safe, cherished, and adored forever. Jackie is 12 years old and 9 pounds. https://www.vermontenglishbulldogrescue.com/non-bulldog-application/

Story
Meet Nelson, also affectionately called “Willie Nelson” by his foster. Believed to be a Chihuahua and Yorkie mix, Nelson is a handsome 14 lb gentleman, estimated to be around 2 years old. His striking beige face, tufted ears, and black-and-white coat are as distinctive as his personality. Nelson is a loyal and affectionate companion once he has built trust, a process that takes patience but rewards with a dog who loves nothing more than being in your lap and accepting belly rubs. He is crate trained and has made big strides in his house training. Nelson is working on his confidence, leash skills, and recall with his foster. He is hesitant around men and should not be around small children, as he may snap when unsure or scared. He does not like cats and would need a very slow, supervised introduction to a resident dog. Nelson comes with a slow feeder, as he tends to gulp his food, and he benefits from a consistent routine for feeding and potty breaks. This sweet, cute mix is ready for a calm, cat-free, adult-only home where he can be your devoted shadow.Nelson is located in Houston, Texas. Transport to most states is available for an additional fee of $300.

Story
Ellie is a 5 year old Chi Mix. She has been described by her foster family as a homebody. She just loves to lay around. She loves to play with toys. She is food motivated and potty trained. She happily sleeps in her crate at night. When she first meets somebody she can seem a bit aloof but given time she becomes very loveable. She is currently being fostered with 5 other Chihuahuas and does well with most of them. She isn't a fan of the other female dog. We don't know how she feels about children, but she likely wouldn't be a big fan of fast moving toddlers. https://www.vermontenglishbulldogrescue.com/non-bulldog-application/

Story
Super duper small breed alerts!! Rough and tough and…. Ha who are we kidding. These babies are everything but that. Whitney – 1 year old – female – 5.6 lbs – Fully grown – Darker color Glimmer – 1 year old – female – 5.0 lbs – Fully grown – All white Tofu – 10 weeks old – female – 3.0 lbs – Glimmers puppy – All white Mist – 10 weeks old – male – 5.5 lbs – Glimmers Puppy – All white These furry babies came from a hoarding situation where they were not well taken care of. Thanks to a foster of ours, we were able to help these 4 babies out of that situation, into a temporary, loving foster home. Are they all good with other dogs? YES! They came from a house with 20+ dogs and they get along great with the current foster’s dogs’ Are they good with cats? Yes! Cats are all bigger than they are. Kids? The puppies would be wonderful with children. The adults are a bit shy at first but come around and are very sweet Do they bark? Only when they’re super playful or see dogs/cats they don’t know yet. They do not bark at just the air, like some are known for House trained? Mist and Tofu are not house trained. Glimmer and Whitney are working on crate training. Will do great with one-on-one time and patience. They all love being held, it makes them feel safe. Mist and Tofu love playing with toys and are quite outgoing. All four have a habit of taking blankets from the others dog’s crates and trying to hoard them for themselves. Be aware of the blanket thieves! Whitney and Glimmers ideal home would be one that is patient, kind and has another dog for them to help them gain confidence. If there are no other dogs in the home, someone that is home and willing to socialize with them properly to ensure they continue to thrive and come out of their shells. They would do great with gentle, older children. Tofu and Mist are only puppies and would thrive in a home that is a bit more active. These puppies may be small, but they are mighty. They love to play with their toys and run around. They are not shy babies. We don’t believe these pups will get over 10 lbs, especially since mom is only 5 lbs! Adoption Fee Includes: Whitney/Glimmer – Spayed, current on annual vaccinations (Bordatella, rabies, parvo/distemper), heart worm negative, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and includes transport cost from Texas to the East Coast. Tofu/Mist – Current on Bordatella, 2 sets of parvo/distemper vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and includes transport cost from Texas to the East Coast.
