Story
Welcome Layla to CCPAL Rescue. Layla is a 1-year old dog. She recently had puppies and we have the litter. She is a Chihuahua/Dachshund is our best guess. She weighs about 25 pounds. She is sturdy and will make a good walking companion for some lucky family. She would be great for a senior wanting an easier dog to bring in their home or some younger family or couple. She is a very good mother to her puppies. She does shed but it isn’t over the top and I would call her a moderate shedding dog. She is mild mannered and friendly to strangers and people she doesn’t know. She would be a fine dog with a family that has children. We like all children to be 8 or older. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally. She can also ride with one of the transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video

Story
Welcome Pebbles to CCPAL Rescue. She came in with her mom Layla. She is 12-weeks old and she weighs about 5 or 6 pounds. We think full grown would be 25 pounds or less. She has beautiful markings and the most adorable expressions. She was fun to take photos of at the photo shoot. She is good in a crate, good with other dogs, playful and sweet. She is smart and trusting of people. She would be great with a family that is moderately active to highly active. She would be best with someone that is not gone all day everyday and can spend some time with their puppy to keep her social and to finish up her puppy training. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as older children can be taught to respect and be careful with their dog. She is sturdy and would make a great walking companion. She is social and would be fine taking her out places that have lots of people or a doggy daycare. She is up on her vaccinations and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Warning: Reading this bio may cause an uncontrollable urge to scoop up a tiny dog, cradle her like a baby, and spend the rest of the day telling her how pretty she is. Meet Zeena! At about one year old and just 20 pounds, Zeena is the perfect "take me everywhere" size. We think she's a Chihuahua/Spaniel mix (our best guess!), and whatever combination created this little masterpiece deserves a standing ovation. She has the sweetest chocolatey face with perfectly placed tan eyebrows that always make her look curious, soft floppy ears, warm caramel legs, and the cutest little white freckles sprinkled across her tiny paws. Those speckled feet are honestly impossible to get over. They look like someone dipped her little toes in paint just for fun. Add in her expressive puppy eyes and constantly wagging tail, and you've got one ridiculously adorable little lady. Watch Zeena's video here! https://youtu.be/8xdwDMJmzZQ?si=1OkiR6ujRml8tcmV Zeena has two speeds: professional cuddle bug and professional goofball. Her absolute favorite place to be is in your arms. She loves being held like a baby, stretched out on her back while you rub her belly, completely convinced that personal space is just a silly suggestion. If there's an open lap, she's already climbing into it. If you're sitting on the couch, she's planning on joining you. She simply wants to love her people as much as humanly possible. But don't let all those cuddles fool you—this girl knows how to have fun! Zeena is a toy enthusiast, and if you ask her, every day should include a game of fetch. Her beloved tennis ball goes everywhere with her. She'll happily chase it, bring it back, or even toss it into the air herself when nobody else is available to play. Watching her get the backyard zoomies with her favorite ball is guaranteed to make you smile. Zeena is growing up in a loving foster home where she's surrounded by kitty friends, including kittens, and she's been absolutely wonderful with them. She's gentle, respectful, and seems to think cats make perfectly acceptable companions. Whether they want to play or simply share the couch, Zeena is happy to be their friend. She's also the kind of dog that makes everyday life easy. Zeena is potty trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on leash around the neighborhood. She loves joining her people for walks just as much as she loves coming home afterward for a cuddle session. What makes Zeena so special isn't just that she's adorable—although she absolutely is—it's how naturally she fits into everyday life. She's playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being demanding, and adaptable enough to thrive in so many different homes. Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a couch companion, or a tiny shadow to follow you from room to room, Zeena checks every box. If you're searching for a little dog with freckled toes, a heart full of love, endless belly rub requests, and enough personality to keep you smiling every single day, Zeena is ready to become your new best friend. Fair warning, though—you may never get anything done again once she's curled up in your lap. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
There was a time when Rosey’s whole world was a tiny hidey hole on the streets. She knew how to survive, how to disappear when she needed to, and occasionally how to find a little companionship running alongside a pack of neighborhood dogs. What she didn’t know yet was the soft stuff- couches, beds, leashes, car rides, toys, or what it feels like to belong somewhere. A lot of you actually watched the beginning of Rosey’s story unfold on our social media. She came to us painfully thin, missing much of her fur and battling a serious infection in both eyes. She needed someone willing to meet her exactly where she was. Thankfully, that someone was waiting. Go watch Rosey on YouTube, especially if you remember the little street dog from those first posts. Seeing her now, learning to play, settling into the couch and discovering that a bed is an excellent place to snuggle, is the very best part of her story. Her video lets you meet the Rosey who has been quietly blooming behind the scenes. https://youtu.be/6X3cznjTO14 For the past month, Rosey has been fostered in a loving home with an impressive welcoming committee of seven small dogs and one large dog. She came in without any real experience living inside a home, walking on a leash or riding in a car. Instead of expecting her to know things she had never been taught, her foster gave her time, patience and a pack of dogs to show her the ropes. Rosey has absolutely risen to the occasion. Every week seems to bring another little first. She is gaining confidence. She is learning how to play. She has discovered the couch and, perhaps more importantly, the bed. She snuggles. She watches the other dogs and learns from them. The girl who once made herself small enough to fit into a hiding place is slowly realizing she is allowed to take up space in a home. Rosey is still a work in progress, and we think that is one of the loveliest things about her. She doesn’t need someone expecting a perfectly finished dog. She needs someone who sees how far she has already come and feels excited about everything still ahead. Her progress in just one month has been remarkable, and with continued patience, encouragement and gentle exposure to this big new world, we believe she will keep surprising everyone. There is something incredibly special about watching a dog experience ordinary life and realize it is good. A soft place to sleep. A dog friend inviting you to play. A person beside you on the couch. A warm bed at night. Rosey is learning that these things can be hers now, and we would love nothing more than for the next chapter of her story to be the one where she realizes they are hers forever.
