Story
Welcome Flicker to CCPAL Rescue. Flicker is a 3-month-old Chihuahua mixed puppy. He is about 4 pounds now and should be 12 pounds full grown is our best estimation. Flicker’s mom is Buttons. Button is a 12-pound chihuahua. The pups are going potty on the wee pads and are crated in a playground during the day. They don’t mind the crate and are happy to be in the shaded building getting daily attention by the staff at CCPAL. Flicker was born on the streets of Texas and rescued by a good Samaritan. He is getting his puppy vaccines, dewormed and will be neutered in a few weeks and ready for his forever home. Flicker has a fawn coat with a black muzzle and his coat is soft. He isn’t shedding now and may be a lower shedding dog. He likes being held and is playful with his litter mates. We are thrilled the good Samaritan stepped in to help these puppies get to the CCPAL Rescue. He and the siblings all look very different, so we think there may have been a few dads that were involved in the puppies. They are all precious and all would appear to be small dogs full grown. We are currently in Texas and our pups can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get them to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
Welcome Atom to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 3-month-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mixed puppy. Mom is Chihuahua and dad is a Dachshund. Atom is small and weighs about 5 pounds now. He fits easily in your hands. He has droopy ears and a wrinkly forehead and some big, beautiful eyes that will be hard to resist. He has a straight and a longer body. He should be 15 pounds or less full grown. He will be a small dog. Both parents were under 12 pounds. He would be best in a home where the person doesn’t work all day every day. A house with less stairs is best as well. He needs to be with his human, to be able to go places and to finish up his puppy training. He will go potty on a wee pad. He is playful and the puppies all like toys. He is the middle size in his litter. He is getting his puppy vaccines, dewormed and will be ready for neuter when he is a few weeks older or heavier. They need to weigh 5 pounds to be neutered. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older due to his small size. He could be adopted locally in Texas, where she is in the Rescue or we could work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Welcome Button to CCPAL Rescue. Button is a 2-year-old Chihuahua. She is full grown and weighs 12 pounds. She was rescued off the streets of Texas along with her puppies. She was navigating being stray at one of the most difficult times, birth of puppies and keeping them safe. She did a wonderful job. A good Samaritan rescued her and kept her for a while to get her accustomed to being around people with her pups. I can say she is very social and appreciative of affection. She is a wonderful momma and has acclimated well to the Rescue. Her puppies all look very different in their coat colors. We do think she could have had multiple fathers. They have small feet and all indications point to Chihuahua mixed small dogs. Her teeth look good and with maintenance and care, shouldn’t need a dental any time soon. She would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. She would really be perfect for an older couple or single person wanting an easy companion with not too much exercise needs. She is quiet and likes being held. All Chihuahua can and will bark so I would suspect she will bond and get comfortable and warn her owner someone is at the door. A smaller yard would be fine for this small girl. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Marshmallow is the softest, sweetest little puff of puppy you could ever hope to meet. This tiny Chihuahua/wire-haired terrier mix is about two months old and is equal parts playful goofball and cuddly baby. He’s the kind of pup who will zoom around one minute and melt into your arms the next. Marshmallow loves to play just as much as his siblings—he’ll bounce, hop, and tumble his way through playtime with the cutest clumsy confidence. Watching him explore the world is like watching pure joy in motion. Every toy is exciting, every sound is interesting, and every moment is an opportunity for fun. Look how fun he is in his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/VaHXt10YCaA?si=iZMbNbyHGGT8bm_d But what makes Marshmallow extra special is his softer side. After he’s done being a tiny tornado, he’s more than happy to snuggle up and soak in all the love. He has that perfect puppy balance of energy and sweetness that makes you fall in love instantly. Like any young puppy, Marshmallow will need a home that’s ready for the full puppy experience. That means patience, training, consistency, and lots of time dedicated to helping him learn and grow. He’s still figuring everything out—from potty habits to manners to how to be the best little companion—and he’ll thrive with a family that’s committed to guiding him every step of the way. Marshmallow is looking for someone who will adore his silly moments, cherish his cuddly ones, and invest in his future. In return, he’ll give you a lifetime of love, laughter, and those heart-melting puppy eyes that you’ll never be able to say no to. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69b48671b90c68e02009b021 Questions? Story
Welcome Maddie to CCPAL Rescue. Maddie is between 5-7 months. She is a Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She has an adorable underbite. She weighs 12 pounds. She is good on a leash, good in a crate, uses a doggie door, potty trained and good in a car. She is a combo lap companion and would be a great walking companion. She would be great for an active senior or active person wanting a great companion pet. She sheds a lower amount and is a true gem in our Rescue. She is in foster care and doing great. They have a large dog and Maddie is no problem and submits to the other dog’s dominance. Maddie would be fine in a home with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Maddie would be fine in a home with someone with less experience in dogs but we would like someone who wants to spend time with her and take her places or on walks. She is very social and we would like her to continue to be the social butterfly.
