Story
The name alone some how captures his essence perfectly … Spike Bentley. Doesn’t it give a sophisticated adventurer vibe? We think so! He is a pint-sized guy but the confidence is impressive. He is confident in new places, meets new people and dogs with the same polite and welcoming approach. He is alert, curious, and has such a bright, bubbly presence. At an estimated 3 years old and 17 lbs, we suspect Spike is a Chihuahua mix but of course, rescue rules apply, so breed and age are our best guess. Go watch Spike Bentley on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this ears-up sidekick! https://youtu.be/pdeYKKOemFc Let’s get this part out of the way because Chihuauas are a house divided on the topic of being carried. Some welcome it (almost expect it) while others would like to pass entirely, very do-it-myself, and Spike is in Camp B. He is not your accessory type of small dog. Spike prefers freedom of movement and likes to stay busy. Being restrained or held still is not his favorite thing and he will absolutely let you know with his full-body protest wiggle that he would prefer to be back on the ground handling his own business. That said, outside of that boundary, he is wonderfully tolerant and easygoing with people. Spike handled a wide variety of situations like a dog who has seen the world before and knows he likes it just fine. New people? Great. Men? No problem. Kids? Polite and respectful without becoming overexcited or pushy.. New dogs? All are welcome. He moved through every situation with a confident, social ease and recovered immediately from anything unfamiliar. Loud noises, busy environments, obstacles, handling exercises... none of it rattled him much. He spent most of his time trotting around with his head up, chest out, ears perked, and curiosity fully activated. With other dogs, Spike was social, respectful, and confident without being clingy or overly playful. He greeted appropriately, shared affection and toys well, respected boundaries around treats, and generally seemed happiest giving a quick “hello” before moving on with his own agenda. He does not appear to need another dog in the home and may actually prefer a companion relationship over a full-time wrestling buddy situation. He could likely live happily as a solo dog or alongside another calm, socially appropriate dog who respects personal space. Spike’s energy level is refreshing and he will thrive with someone who enjoys walks, outings, little adventures, and giving a smart dog things to do. We all loved just how suited his energy was for how solid-tempered and adaptable he is. Apartment life could suit him just fine thanks to his confidence and ability to handle environmental stressors well, as long as his physical and mental energy needs are met. What really stands out about Spike is how capable he feels. He carries himself like a dog who fully expects to be included in life rather than managed through it. He feels like the perfect match for someone wanting an active little companion to take along for errands, walks, patio hangs, road trips, and daily routines. Think tiny dog with a fully booked social calendar. Spike is ready and waiting to start living life by your side! Story
Squeak is a three-month-old little girl who is as cheerful and fun as her name suggests. When she first arrives somewhere new, she may take a brief moment to look around and orient herself—but that’s just her being thoughtful in a new space. Once she settles in, she quickly shows her true personality: playful, social, confident, and full of happy puppy energy. Squeak is an outgoing little pup who loves to explore and be part of whatever is happening. She is curious about everything and enjoys investigating her surroundings, especially when there are toys, people, or other dogs involved. Her happiness is easy to see—she moves with excitement, engages with her environment, and lights up when she gets attention or playtime. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/W4_Pp7mNlNs?si=qNo-37bBSgGbthdt She is thriving in her foster home with multiple other dogs and absolutely loves their company. Squeak learns from them, plays with them, and follows their lead during play and outdoor time. The backyard is one of her favorite places, where she can run, explore, and join in group play. She really enjoys being part of a pack and feels confident and happy around other dogs. Squeak is also very affectionate and enjoys being handled and carried. She’s small enough to be picked up easily, and she’s comfortable settling in close with her people after playtime. While she is playful and active, she also has a soft, sweet side that enjoys connection and calm moments. She would do wonderfully in a home that can give her plenty of play, structure, and affection. A friendly dog companion would be ideal for her, as she really enjoys having other dogs around to interact with and learn from. She’s at a perfect age to continue growing into a well-rounded, social, and loving companion. Squeak is the kind of puppy who brings energy, happiness, and constant little moments of joy into a home—always moving, always curious, and always ready to be part of the fun. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69f8d934a543d37dcf012802 Questions? Story
Pip is a three-month-old little boy who may be small in size, but he has a big, bright personality that shines the moment he feels comfortable. When you first meet him in a new place, he might take a second to look around and take everything in—but that’s just him adjusting. Once he settles, Pip quickly shows who he really is: a playful, happy, outgoing puppy who loves life and loves people. Pip is full of puppy energy in the sweetest way. He enjoys exploring, bouncing around the yard, and turning everyday moments into little adventures. Whether it’s a leaf blowing across the grass or another puppy running by, Pip is ready to join in and be part of the fun. He has that classic joyful puppy spirit where everything feels exciting and new. Watch his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/W4_Pp7mNlNs?si=fJo1Nk0oC70PIk9a He is thriving in his foster home with multiple other dogs, and he absolutely loves having canine friends. Other dogs bring out his confidence and his playful side, and he learns quickly from them. He fits right into group play, happily running around the backyard, engaging in puppy games, and then slowing down to check in for a cuddle or a quick break before heading back out again. Even with all his energy, Pip is still very young and very small, and he’s wonderfully easy to handle. He is comfortable being picked up and carried, and he often enjoys that closeness. In those calm moments, you can really see his sweet, affectionate side—he relaxes easily and seems to enjoy being close to his person. Pip would do best in a home that can keep up with his playful puppy energy and continue guiding him as he grows. A home with another friendly dog would be a huge bonus for him, as he really thrives in canine company. He’ll also do well with an active, loving family who can give him time, attention, and plenty of play. Pip is the kind of puppy who fills a home with laughter and movement—always doing something cute, always ready for the next adventure, and always happy just to be part of it all. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69f8d92777cb1fc7e908ed58 Questions? Story
Butter Bean is the tiniest little lovebug with the softest heart you could imagine. At just about a month and a half old, she is brand new to the world and taking everything in with wide, curious eyes and a gentle, trusting spirit. She has that delicate, “handle-with-care” sweetness about her, the kind that makes you instinctively want to scoop her up and protect her forever. She absolutely adores being held close. In fact, if Butter Bean had it her way, she would spend her whole day tucked against your chest, soaking up warmth, love, and reassurance. She melts into you the moment you pick her up, like a tiny little baby who just knows she’s safe. Her affection is quiet but constant—soft tail wiggles, little snuggles, and that calm presence that makes her feel like she’s always meant to be right there with you. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/WWSX7EKlYhE?si=Wcz0QJ9wfT7SPVq5 Even though she’s gentle and cuddly, she’s also starting to show her playful baby side. She’ll toddle around with her tiny steps, investigating the world at her own pace, occasionally getting the zoomies in the cutest, clumsiest way possible. Everything is new to her, and she approaches it all with a sweet mix of curiosity and innocence. Butter Bean will thrive in a home that cherishes the little things—the quiet cuddles, the soft moments, and the joy of watching a tiny puppy grow into her personality. She’s the kind of dog who will form a deep, loving bond and be your constant little companion. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, tiny baby to love and nurture, Butter Bean is ready to curl up in your heart and stay there forever. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69c14f1cc65acd97e40dbc16 Questions? Story
Daisy is the kind of puppy who makes every day brighter. At around five months old, she is full of love, curiosity, happiness, and that playful puppy excitement that makes you smile without even realizing it. She has such a sweet, gentle personality and truly loves being around people. Whether she is following the kids around the house, playing in the backyard, or proudly showing off something new she has learned, Daisy brings so much joy everywhere she goes. Right now, Daisy is thriving in her foster home where she lives with children and other dogs, and she is doing absolutely amazing. She adores kids and has such a gentle, loving way about her with them. She always wants to be part of the fun and is happiest when she gets to join in on playtime, backyard adventures, or just hang out nearby soaking up attention. She also loves other dogs and has a blast playing and running around with her canine friends. She has a playful spirit, but she is also incredibly sweet and affectionate. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/5NnoNdeLIs8?si=BjSEd5Yg5SsEuvUE One of Daisy’s favorite things in the world is being outside. She loves exploring the backyard, sniffing around, playing, and discovering every little thing she can. She is curious in the best way and approaches life with so much excitement and wonder. Watching her explore the world is honestly adorable because everything is new and exciting to her. She is always ready for a little adventure, whether that means zooming around the yard, chasing toys, or simply enjoying the sunshine. And speaking of toys… Daisy LOVES them. Give her a toy and she is instantly happy. She loves to play, carry toys around proudly, and entertain herself before coming back to you for more attention and affection. She has that perfect mix of playful puppy energy and loving companionship. Daisy is also incredibly smart and eager to learn. She is very treat motivated, which has made training so much fun for her. Story
Meet Lady Max — a five-month-old puppy with a big heart, a joyful spirit, and a personality that makes everyone around her smile a little brighter. Lady Max is the kind of puppy who seems to wake up every day excited for life. She is playful, happy, and full of love, always ready to turn even the simplest moment into something fun. Whether she’s bouncing around with a toy, exploring her surroundings with curiosity, or trotting over just to check in on her people, she brings a lightness and happiness wherever she goes. In her foster home, Lady Max is living with both kids and other dogs, and she has shown just how wonderful she is in a busy, family environment. She absolutely adores children and has been gentle, patient, and affectionate with them. She loves being part of the action, whether that means following the kids around the house, joining in playtime, or curling up nearby when it’s time to rest. She has a natural sweetness that makes her feel like she truly belongs in a family setting. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/OvsaFVh9KAw?si=eFWDi5S_IDPNXabT With other dogs, Lady Max is just as wonderful. She is social, friendly, and loves having canine companions to play with. She enjoys running around, engaging in puppy play, and then settling in close when it’s time to relax. She reads other dogs well and has a balanced personality that makes her a great fit for homes with existing pets. One of her most endearing traits is how affectionate she is. Lady Max is a big fan of giving kisses and showing love in her own gentle puppy way. She’s cuddly, enjoys attention, and will happily lean in for pets and snuggles whenever she gets the chance. She doesn’t just want to be near people — she wants to connect with them and be part of their world. Even at just five months old, Lady Max is already showing what a wonderful dog she is going to grow into. She’s smart, eager to please, and learning quickly in her foster home. With continued love, guidance, and consistency, she has all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion. Lady Max would thrive in a home that can give her time, attention, and the chance to keep growing into her best self. She has the personality, the heart, and the foundation to be someone’s perfect family dog. She’s playful enough to keep life fun, sweet enough to melt your heart, and loving enough to become truly bonded with her people. She’s more than just an adorable puppy — she’s a best friend in the making, waiting for the right family to see just how special she really is. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69f3855203d8af12b2031353 Questions?
