Finch Fleetfoot may only weigh 11 pounds, but this tiny boy has enough sweetness and personality packed into his little body to make everyone around him smile. With the long, delicate legs of a miniature Greyhound, the most precious floppy Chihuahua ears, and a happy little prance that makes him look like a baby deer, he is almost too cute to be real. The best part is that he is every bit as loving as he is adorable. Once this little angel decides you are his person, prepare to have a permanent shadow, lap warmer, and tiny best friend following you everywhere you go. We believe he may be a Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound mix, but with animal rescue, breed and age are always a mystery and our best guesses. Whatever combination created those long little legs, floppy ears, and precious face, his DNA is clearly the perfect mixture of all the right things. Finch absolutely adores his people. He may take a minute to warm up to someone new, but once he decides he loves you, there is no getting him off of you. He wants to curl up in your lap, walk directly behind you like a tiny shadow, and remain as close to you as physically possible. If you have ever dreamed of having a small dog who would happily climb right into your skin if given the opportunity, Finch is your guy. He is such a dear little soul and has so much love to give the people who earn his trust. Finch is dog friendly and has spent time around dogs with a wide variety of sizes, energy levels, and personalities. Because he is such a little guy, larger dogs can sometimes feel a bit spooky to him at first. If a big, energetic dog immediately rushes over and wants to become best friends, Finch may offer a quick correction to let them know he needs a little more time and personal space. Once he realizes they are safe, he relaxes and will happily romp around with the bigger dogs. However, he is not necessarily searching for a large, rambunctious playmate. Finch appears most comfortable around dogs closer to his own size, which is completely understandable when nearly everyone else looks like a giant from his perspective. Finch also met our house cat, Biggie, and handled the introduction wonderfully. He was calm and respectful, did not attempt to chase him, and was not bothered by Biggie jumping around or doing normal cat things. Biggie felt comfortable around Finch as well. We do not know whether Finch has ever lived with a cat before, and this was our first time seeing him interact with one. If you have a cat in your home, we can arrange for Finch to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! This smart little guy is crate trained and generally comfortable relaxing in his crate. He is also working on his potty training, and from what we have seen so far, he is beginning to understand where the appropriate potty places are. He loves treats, is eager to please, and already knows how to sit. Finch naturally likes to pop up on his back legs and show off, so we think he would be an adorable little student for tricks like “sit pretty” or “dance.” With a few treats and plenty of praise, this boy will be ready to impress everyone he meets. One of the cutest things about Finch is watching him get the zoomies. With those extra-long legs and tiny body, he looks like a baby deer frolicking around as he happily zips from one side of the room to the other. Thankfully, his zoomies come in miniature bursts. He is generally quiet, is not bouncing off the walls with energy, and settles beautifully when it is time to curl up beside his people. Finch could thrive in an apartment or a home with a backyard. He does not need a huge amount of space or constant entertainment to be happy. He simply wants a safe home, plenty of love, and people who will let him stay close. Whether he is trotting behind you on those tiny stilts, curling up in your lap, or showing off his hilarious baby deer zoomies, Finch has the kind of personality that will keep you smiling every single day. Meet Millie Princess Gurl! With her shiny black coat, tiny tan paws, perfectly placed tan eyebrows, and a little splash of tan beneath her chin, Millie Princess Gurl is one adorable little Chi-Pug mix—and she absolutely has the personality to match her name! This happy girl seems to have a permanent smile on her face, often complete with her tiny tongue peeking out, and it’s hard not to smile right along with her. Millie is one of just two puppies in her litter, and she and her brother, Farley Freefall Boy. They are estimated to be around 4 months old and have recently moved into their very first foster home. They’re both adapting beautifully, and Millie has wasted no time showing everyone what a social, curious, confident little sweetheart she is. Lulu LaRue may be tiny, but she has enough confidence and personality to fill an entire room. She adores people, happily introduces herself to everyone and carries herself like a girl who knows she is absolutely adorable. If Lulu were a person, she would definitely make the first move and ask you out on a date. She has the cutest little circle on her forehead that looks like the shadow of a halo, which feels very fitting for such a special girl. She is confident, spunky and incredibly loving. Lulu enjoys being picked up and carried, happily soaks up attention and has no trouble making herself comfortable with new people. She loves treats, takes them with a wonderfully soft mouth and will happily show off her little sit-and-beg pose or dance for a snack. Lulu is also wonderful with other dogs. She has met both large and small dogs and greeted everyone with easy confidence. She especially enjoyed playing with one of our assessment dogs and followed him around like they had been friends for years. Lulu could happily live with another playful dog, but she is secure enough that she does not need a canine companion to feel complete. She met our house cat, Biggie, and was mostly uninterested in him. She simply ignored him and went about her business, so she may be able to live with a calm, dog-savvy cat after thoughtful introductions. Lulu has a nice, medium energy level, walks nicely on leash and settles comfortably in new environments. She is not particularly barky, handles stress well and recovers quickly when something surprises her. She also walks into a kennel easily and was perfectly content surrounded by new friends and attention the first time we met her. Lulu LaRue is a tiny angel with a confident heart, a loving personality and the perfect amount of sparkle and pizazz! Daisy is the kind of puppy who makes every day brighter. At around eight months old, she is full of love, curiosity, happiness, and that playful puppy excitement that makes you smile without even realizing it. Meet Paisley May, a tiny 1-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 9 pounds, with a beautiful black coat and a story that is still being written. See how she's so amazing! Paisley is a little bit of a diamond in the rough right now—and we mean that in the very best way. After spending much of her young life as a stray, Paisley has recently entered the rescue and is adjusting to a completely different world. New places, new routines, new people, and new dogs are a lot for one tiny girl to take in, so Paisley likes to give herself a little time to figure things out before deciding everything is okay. When unfamiliar dogs enter her space, Paisley may initially bark at them as she gets her bearings. So far, that appears to be the extent of it. Once she begins feeling comfortable, we see glimpses of a playful little girl with what appears to be a gentle play style. Right now, Paisley finds a lot of confidence in her buddy Sassy May. During this big transition into rescue life, having a familiar friend nearby seems to help Paisley feel a little braver. We believe that with time, positive experiences, patient guidance, and continued training, Paisley can keep building the confidence she needs to navigate the world more independently. She simply isn't there quite yet—and that's okay. Paisley is also currently receiving care through the rescue for a skin issue on the top of her head. It may be noticeable when you first see her, but she has now been admitted into the rescue and is getting the attention and treatment she needs. Her appearance today isn't necessarily what this little girl will look like once she's had some time, care, and healing. Think of Paisley as a work in progress. Underneath the uncertainty and the little patch that's still healing is a beautiful 9-pound girl beginning an entirely new chapter of her life. She's learning about safety. She's learning about friendship. She's learning that people can take care of her. And little by little, we're getting to see more of the dog Paisley can become. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!  We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Meet Sassy May, a 2-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua who has one small problem with her name: she’s really not very sassy at all. In reality, Sassy May is a sweet, quiet little lady with a gentle demeanor and an adorable face made even better by her cute little underbite and fluffy tail. When Sassy first finds herself in a new situation, she can be a little timid. She likes having some time to observe, figure things out, and make sure everything feels safe before completely letting her guard down. Give her patience and kindness, and you’ll start seeing the sweet girl hiding underneath that initial shyness. Once she’s comfortable, Sassy enjoys having fun with her buddies and has a playful side that comes out around her friends. She has that wonderful balance of being able to enjoy some playtime without needing to be the loudest or busiest dog in the room. Sassy also walks beautifully on a leash, making leisurely walks together a great way to spend some quality time with this little girl. At only 15 pounds, she’s a perfectly portable companion—but Sassy isn’t looking for someone to simply carry her around.
