Meet Kimi– A Shy Girl Looking for Patience and Love Kimi is a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place. Right now, she’s a cautious little soul — nervous around new people and environments — but with time and patience, she’s beginning to show small signs of trust. She has started coming out of her kennel on her own if given the space and time, and she will walk calmly with a handler as long as she doesn’t feel pressured. In quiet spaces, Kimi prefers to find a safe spot where she can watch from a distance, but she’ll get up and follow when it’s time for a potty break. She isn’t comfortable with petting or handling yet, and may try to avoid unwanted contact, so she’ll need someone who understands dog body language and is willing to let her move at her own pace. Kimi has met other dogs in playgroup but mostly chooses to keep to herself, occasionally venturing out to explore. Because of her fearful nature, she would do best in a calm home with an experienced adopter who sees the beauty in helping a shy dog blossom. With the right person by her side, Kimi has the potential to grow into a devoted little companion. She just needs someone who is patient, gentle, and ready to give her the time she deserves to feel safe and loved. Could that be you? 💕
