Story
Meet Woofgang Puck, or just Puck for short! This lovable 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is a little bundle of joy, possibly with a sprinkle of Beagle in his genes. At first, Puck may come off as shy, but give him a moment, and his playful side will shine like a star! Puck adores his toys and loves to get into some light-hearted trouble—just picture him as the life of the party! He enjoys his naps, but don’t let him miss out on the fun; after all, who wants to snooze through an adventure? He loves being outside, but keep an eye on him—if the yard isn’t secure, he might go on his own mini explorations. And be careful! If a door is left open, he’s ready to dash out! When it comes to other dogs, Puck needs a little help. He has a tendency to “assist” them with their meals, which can be quite annoying. His friendly greetings can be a bit much—he barks, jumps, and wags his tail enthusiastically, which may confuse his canine pals. With some training, he can learn to tone it down. He’s also learning how to handle his protective instincts, but if you have other pets, be prepared to guide him through it. Puck is quite the jumper when he’s excited and might unexpectedly leap onto you, giving playful nips at your legs! He listens when corrected but often forgets the rules once the fun starts again. While he’s crate trained, Puck feels much more comfortable snoozing on a cozy bed rather than being confined to a crate. Sleeping in your bed isn’t something he’s into just yet. The good news is, he’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go out. Puck does have a heart murmur and takes medication twice a day for it. He can get a bit anxious, especially when being picked up or during car rides, and sitting on laps isn’t really his scene. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. With your support, Puck will be ready for short hikes and exciting adventures with his favorite human! Puck has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He also had a recent dental and lost a few teeth. Story
Meet Stretch! Stretch is a 1½-year-old mixed-breed boy weighing about 13 pounds, with the cutest long legs and an adorable personality to match. Stretch can be a little unsure of new people and new places, so he’s looking for a patient, understanding family who will give him the time he needs to feel safe. Once he learns that humans are kind, his sweet and silly side really comes out. One of Stretch’s favorite things is getting kisses on the sides of his face—but he insists on one on each side so it’s fair! When he gets excited or happy, he celebrates with the cutest little spins that will absolutely make you smile. Stretch loves to play fetch, though sometimes the game turns into a playful round of keep-away with his squeaky toys. His goofy antics are guaranteed to bring laughter to your home. He is crate trained and does well with a dog door. Stretch also gets along great with other dogs and cats. A confident dog friend in his new home may help him feel more comfortable as he settles in. With a little patience and a lot of love, Stretch will blossom into a loyal companion who will reward his people with endless affection and those adorable happy spins. Stretch has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Stretch, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Say hello to Poe. Don’t let the name fool you—there’s nothing dark and broody about this little guy. Poe is pure sunshine wrapped in a soft, chunky body. He’s the kind of puppy who greets every person like they’re his long-lost best friend, tail wagging, eyes bright, and ready for love. Around here, we also call him Potato… and more often, Sweet Potato—because honestly, it fits him perfectly. He’s a little round, a lot adorable, and completely irresistible. Whether he’s waddling over for attention or melting into you for cuddles, Poe’s whole mission in life is simple: be close to his people and soak up affection. Because of his diminutive size, we are looking for a home with children older than 8 years. He’s got that easygoing, happy temperament that makes him a joy to be around. Playful but not overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy—just a genuinely good-natured pup who will fit beautifully into so many homes. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion with a big heart (and an even bigger personality packed into a potato-shaped body), Poe might just be your perfect match. Come meet Poe—your Sweet Potato is waiting Poe has been neutered, is current on age-appropriate vaccines and has been microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Poe, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text Cathy at 801-598-0771 or email cv-sandy@hotmail.com.
