Story
Meet Theo! Theo is a handsome 7‑year‑old Husky-Mastiff mix with a gentle soul and a quiet wisdom about him. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he shows his affectionate, loyal side in the sweetest ways. This gentle boy has had a few homes through no fault of his own, and each move has left him a little unsure of new places. Underneath that initial reserve, is a deeply loyal dog who wants nothing more than stability, kindness, and someone who will finally be his forever.Theo is believed to be a Husky/Mastiff mix, making him a combination of two large and powerful breeds. Huskies are loyal dogs who bond deeply with their owners. Theo would do best in a home where he has abundant mental and physical enrichment and exercise catered to his age. Huskies can be vocal and prone to separation anxiety, and while he can be a quiet couch potato at times- Theo is no exception to the husky stereotype! So his new family would need to be prepared for a bit of vocal commentary. After many transitions, Theo is searching for a patient, understanding forever home where he can settle in without pressure. He thrives in a calm environment with people who respect his boundaries and celebrate his small victories. Potential adopters will need to be willing to create a safe space for Theo as he settles in. He can be reserved and weary of strangers in his space, so he'll need guardians willing to advocate for his comfort. Because of his affinity for snacks, Theo is currently on a weight‑loss plan. He'll need an adopter who can continue supporting his health journey with measured meals, regular walks, and a bit of encouragement. He's not a high‑energy whirlwind, but he does enjoy getting out, exploring at his own pace, and building confidence through routine and gentle activity. If you think Theo could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below. https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/ *TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible and drastically affects the likelihood of receiving a call back.* Primary Color: Black Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 48.3 Age: 7yrs 2mths 2wks
