Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 4 (4.5 months) and mom (2.5 years) surrendered by a family located in CO Springs. Family reached out for help with an accidental litter that they could not keep due to living in a townhome and not having the resources and space these dogs needed. Family is reported to all be purebred Akitas, though we cannot 100% confirm. From the foster: Meet Kiera, a beautiful 2.5-year-old Akita with a teddy-bear face and a heart full of love. After raising her puppies and watching them all find homes, this sweet momma is ready for a forever family of her own. Kiera is loving, well-mannered, and smart. She completed a 3-week training academy, is e-collar trained, and knows commands like heel, sit, down, bed, crate, spin, and wait. Her fosters say she is amazing on walks and a total dream on leash. At home, Kiera is calm, quiet, affectionate, and happy to relax with her people. She sleeps well in her kennel, rarely barks, gives the sweetest kisses, and has a silly side. She loves tossing toys to herself and making her own fun. She would do best as the only dog in the home and would be a great fit for a family with children 10 or older since she can knock little ones down since she is about 65 lbs. Kiera is the perfect mix of gentle, loyal, playful, and well-trained. She has so much love to give and is ready to be someone’s best friend. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Owner surrender after the adopter recently underwent brain surgery that resulted in the loss of her vision. Originally from Texas, but was driven to Colorado to find a safe placement due to concerns that her breed put her at a higher risk of euthanasia in Texas shelters. From the foster: Meet Tula—the playful pup who’s ready to keep you smiling! Sweet, energetic, and always ready for fun, Tula is the kind of puppy who would love nothing more than an active family to keep up with her playful spirit. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs and does wonderfully with canine friends. She’d thrive in a home where she can enjoy plenty of playtime, walks, and opportunities to keep her busy—and while she does great in an apartment, a fenced yard would be the perfect bonus for zoomies and games of fetch! Tula is already off to a fantastic start with her puppy skills. She’s mostly potty trained, with just one accident so far, and she’s comfortable and content in her kennel both overnight and while her foster family is at work. She hasn’t shown any signs of destructive habits or separation anxiety, making her an especially easy puppy to welcome into your home. This smart girl already knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and she’s excited to keep learning! She’s currently working on her “place” command and building her confidence and skills on leash. Like many puppies, Tula can get a little mouthy during play, so she’ll benefit from a family who can help her channel that playful puppy energy into appropriate games and continue teaching her good manners. Tula is sweet, social, smart, and ready for a family who will make her part of the fun. Ready for a playful, loving, adventure buddy who brings endless puppy joy to the table? Come meet Tula! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
