🐾 Meet Dacre, a playful pup with a heart worth getting to know! Dacre is happiest splashing in his pool, chasing a bouncy ball, enjoying a good chew toy, or playing with his favorite person. Once you’ve earned his trust, he’s an affectionate, devoted companion who gets so excited when you come home! This smart, food-motivated boy loves learning. He knows “sit” and “kennel” and is working on “down” and “paw.” He responds best to patient, reward-based training that helps him build confidence at his own pace. Dacre is fully crate trained and nearly potty trained, though he still has occasional accidents and may pee when frightened. Dacre enjoys other dogs and may thrive with a compatible, active canine companion. His heeler traits shine through in his enthusiastic play, which can include herding and nipping. He’s still learning leash manners and seems more confident walking alongside his foster buddy, Moose. Dacre needs time and space to feel comfortable with new people. He has growled and snapped when uncomfortable, so his future family will need to respect his boundaries and allow introductions to happen slowly. An adult-only home would be the best fit while he continues building confidence. He also has a strong prey drive, which should be considered when choosing his home. Dacre is looking for someone committed to giving him the time, patience, and professional training he needs to succeed. For the person willing to invest in him, there’s a sweet, silly, water-loving best friend waiting to blossom. ❤️
