Cookie is a sweet little momma dog who has given far more than she ever received. After being used for multiple litters, Cookie was heartbreakingly put outside in a box on a cold day with her final litter of puppies. Only two survived. When someone alerted us to her situation, we immediately stepped in — and her owner was willing to let her go. Cookie hasn’t looked back since.
Despite everything she’s endured, Cookie is truly the nicest little dog. She’s gentle, loving, and happiest curled up in your lap. At around 7 years old and just 13 pounds, Cookie is tiny enough to be scooped up and taken along wherever you go. She’s not into rough play or running around with other dogs — she much prefers a calm environment and being close to her person.
Cookie is the definition of a loyal companion. She’s perfect for someone looking for a quiet, devoted best friend rather than an energetic playmate. After a lifetime of being overlooked, Cookie deserves a cozy home, warm blankets, and someone who will finally put her first.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.
The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.
NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption.
If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.
