Biscuit is an 8 year old male, long haired dachshund. He is a celebrity graduate of our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program where he captured the hearts of so many. He was rumored to be the Assistant Warden as he marched around like he owned the place. Despite his short stature, he was respected by all. Biscuit is ready to "get out of jail", retire his warden status and live out his days in a comfortable home. A quiet, yet somewhat active adult home will be best. He is, after all, a dachshund. He's got the attitude. He gets along well with other dogs if they dont crowd his space. He does not get along with cats and he doesnt have the tolerance for children. An old episode made him leary of being picked up and snuggled. He is in excellent health but he has his special needs. He must be on a fish based kibble and Apoquel during high allergy peaks helps with this skin. For all you dachshund lovers, this guy is quite the character. RICKEY is a 4 year old male chihuahua. He's a bit on the chubby side at 19 lbs but a home that can get him exercising more will take care of that. He came to us from an overcrowded pet home which stunted his social skills but that's behind him. He is now very friendly, readily wags his tail and perfect for the right person to be his best friend forever. He says he's fine with other dogs but he's had so many in his life, he'd like a home with maybe one other. It's a human he's seeking. He's come so far with us, we cant wait to see how far he can go with you! If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. FRED is a 7 year old male chihuahua that weighs 15 lbs. He is a shy, gentle little dog that is working hard to enjoy a better life. He came to us from a hoarding situation. A senior became ill and left 8 little dogs behind in her home. They were well fed but poorly socialized. It has taken some time in foster care to get to the point Fred could graduate to our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. Some of the dogs in this program benefit from obedience, others from socialization. FRED has bonded nicely with his inmate and his biggest accomplishment so far? he is very snuggly and affectionate. He is also walking nicely on a leash. FRED is doing amazingly well with outside sights and sounds. His perfect home will be a quiet, adult home with someone who is kind and patient.
