Story
Meet Honey: An Independent Queen Looking for a Quiet Sanctuary At 8 ½ years young, Honey is a tiny Chihuahua with a beautiful, introverted soul. She has a past that has made her wary of humans, but she knows exactly what she wants out of her next chapter: a peaceful, safe place to simply be. The Magic of Honey: The Ultimate Peaceful Roommate: Honey isn’t looking for physical affection, cuddles, or pets—and she may never be. Instead, she offers a quiet, gentle presence. Providing a safe haven for a dog who just needs a place to land is a deeply rewarding experience in its own unique way. A Friend to the Flocks: She absolutely thrives around other animals! Honey currently coexists beautifully with both cats and dogs in her foster home. She draws confidence from her furry friends, so a home with a resident pet to help her feel secure and show her that humans can be kind is exactly what she’s hoping for. A Beautiful Spirit: She is quick, independent, and fiercely herself. As her foster family perfectly describes her: trying to catch her is "like trying to scoop up moonlight!" Honey’s Ideal Kingdom: Honey isn’t broken; she’s just writing her own rules. She is looking for a rare "unicorn" adopter who understands that giving love sometimes just means giving space. Securely Fenced Yard: This is a strict requirement, as she cannot be leashed or carried and has zero recall. Calm & Quiet: Preferably an adult-only home (no small children) with a predictable, serene environment for her to feel safe. If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and the patience to let a tiny queen exist safely and comfortably on her own terms, she's waiting for you!   The adoption fee is $250** + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. **Part of Honey Boo Boo's adoption fee has been sponsored, and is now $150! We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2355812##

Story
Say Hello to Doc! Doc is a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix who's looking for a special family to help him discover just how wonderful life can be. While he may be reserved when meeting new people, beneath that cautious exterior is a sweet little guy who wants a place where he can feel safe and loved. Doc isn't the type to jump right into new situations. He'll need a family that understands that trust is earned and is willing to let him settle in at his own pace. With patience, gentle encouragement, and lots of love, Doc will continue to grow in confidence and show his true personality. A quieter home with caring people who respect his need for time would be the perfect match for this deserving boy. Watching Doc come out of his shell and realize he's finally home will be a rewarding experience for the lucky family who adopts him. If you believe every dog deserves a chance to blossom, Doc is waiting to meet you! The adoption fee is $300 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##2770058##

Story
Meet Yihah! Yihah is an adorable 5-year-old Chihuahua mix with a sweet, loving heart that’s just waiting to be shared. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she’s safe—and then all she wants is to be close to her favorite humans. This little sweetheart absolutely loves to be picked up, held, and carried around. She’ll happily snuggle into your arms, shower you with kisses, and be your constant little companion. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, Yihah is your girl! Yihah does well with other dogs and would enjoy a home where she can relax and feel secure. She can be nervous around young children and doesn’t enjoy fast movements or a lot of commotion, so she’d thrive in a calm, patient home with older children or adults who understand that she likes life at a gentler pace. With a little kindness and understanding, Yihah’s confidence blossoms quickly. Once she trusts you, you’ll have a loyal best friend who will happily soak up all the love and affection you have to give. If you’re ready to open your heart to a gentle little shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Yihah can’t wait to meet you!
