Story
Meet Katie B! This adorable girl has already come such a long way and continues to make progress every single day. While she may be shy at first, underneath that timid exterior is a sweet dog who truly wants to please and is learning how wonderful life with people can be. Katie B settles down nicely in her kennel or will quietly find a cozy place to relax. She is still learning how to walk on a leash and doesn’t fully understand commands yet, but her house manners are coming along very well. She’s the kind of dog who learns best with patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement. Katie B gets along well with other dogs and has shown no negative reactions to cats. Children should be fine for her as long as they understand to give her space and allow her to come to them on her own terms. She can be nervous about cuddling at first, but she has made incredible progress. Once she settles onto your lap, she relaxes and truly enjoys attention and gentle petting. She does tend to “start over” with new people and needs a little time to feel safe again, but she warms up faster as her confidence grows. Right now, Katie B is still learning how to play and discover what it means to simply be a dog. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, and her little victories make her even more special. She came to us on the higher end of the semi-feral scale, but with patience and love she has already made tremendous strides and is now much more comfortable with people. Katie B will thrive in a calm, low-energy home with a patient, dog-savvy family willing to continue helping her build confidence. The family lucky enough to earn her trust will gain an incredibly rewarding companion and watch a beautiful transformation unfold.

Story
Meet Ginger AKA Aphrodite! 🐾❤️ She is an absolutely wonderful dog with the funniest, goofiest personality! She has a true cartoon-character charm about her, especially when she's excited and one ear goes up while the other stays down. She's affectionate, lovable, cuddly, and just an all-around great girl. Ginger is house trained and very well behaved in the home. She has free roam of the house and does wonderfully. She's also comfortable in her crate and will even go in on her own to relax, happily staying there with the door open. This girl LOVES her people. She enjoys cuddling, belly rubs, and being petted and has happily slept next to her 14-year-old foster brother. She's not overly attached to just one person and is happy to spread her love around. She's also very friendly with strangers, although she did become unsure of one visitor who was wearing a football helmet, a pretty unusual sight from her perspective! Ginger has done extremely well with children over the age of 8. She can get excited and may pop up on her hind legs when greeting someone, but she has shown no biting behavior. She's a smart girl who listens well and has some basic training. She doesn't bark much, although she may bark at other dogs. She is still working on her leash manners and can pull very strongly at the beginning of a walk. After about a half mile, though, she settles in and walks much more nicely. She absolutely loves sniffing and exploring, especially through tall grass. And if you mention a car ride or a walk? Get ready! Ginger gets so excited that she'll spin in circles because she knows something fun is about to happen. Ginger has had some human food in the past and can be a little particular about her dog food. Her foster has found that mixing it with a little dog-safe chicken broth helps encourage her to eat. Funny, goofy, affectionate, cuddly, smart, and full of personality, Ginger is the kind of dog who will keep you smiling while happily snuggling up beside you. She's already a wonderful companion and is ready to find a family who will love her as much as she deserves.

Story
Meet Mimi! This dainty little queen is equal parts sweet, snuggly, and delightfully determined. Mimi is fully potty trained, immediately does her business outside, and has had zero accidents in her foster home. She’s also wonderfully well-mannered, sleeps soundly in her crate when left alone, and has quickly proven herself to be an easy and lovable companion. Mimi can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe and comfortable, she turns into the ultimate cuddle bug. She absolutely adores curling up in a warm lap, snuggling with her people, or cozying up in her crate for a nap. She would thrive in a home where her humans are around often and ready to spoil her with love and attention. This little lady also has quite the personality! Mimi’s favorite “toy” is actually her fluffy bed, which she proudly carries from room to room while carefully fluffing it into the perfect cozy nest. Pillows, blankets, stuffies, even her cat tunnel, nothing is too big or inconvenient for Mimi when she’s on a mission to redecorate! Watching her drag her treasures around the house with total determination is absolutely adorable. Doors, gates, blankets, and oversized toys will not stop this tenacious little sprite. Mimi does beautifully with her foster dog siblings and enjoys exploring the backyard, sniffing all the exciting smells, basking in the sunshine, and occasionally zooming through her cat tunnel before settling back in for more snuggles. She walks happily on a leash, rides beautifully in the car, and would make an excellent little road trip buddy. Though she may look delicate and dainty, Mimi has a confident and spirited side that allows her to hold her own with animal friends while charming every human she meets. She’s the perfect mix of cozy lap dog and adventurous little companion, all wrapped up in one irresistibly cute package.
