Jingle came into our program as a breeder release, a young adult with a long life ahead of her. When Jingle arrived in her foster home, she was quite reserved. She was confused, she wasn't sure if this was a good thing or not. She was very timid & scared. Boy, has she really changed, she has flourished & bloomed! Once so scared, she willingly goes to her foster mom & seeks companionship & cuddles from her. She will do best in a calm, low activity home. A home that is willing to patiently allow her to adjust & get used to her forever environment. Going into a new home will be another change for Jingle, but she is very brave & we know that she will successfully make the transition if given a chance. She will do best learning from other 4-legged siblings, we would like to see her find a home with some friends of similar size & energy level. She follows her foster siblings around, she likes to play with them very gently, no rough housing. In her foster home, she has proven to be 100% house trained. We are so proud of her. With that said, her new family must understand she could have a few accidents until she gets her new routine down. Please be prepared to give her ample opportunity for success, praise her when she does it right, & be patient with her. We have given Jingle space to decompress & get used to being a pet. We have not pushed the issue of leash training. We do not know if that is something she would enjoy in the future or not. Therefore, for her safety (& for her to be able to do her potty business immediately upon adoption), a secure physical fence yard is required. An aluminum or slat type of fencing will need a gap filler around the bottom half so she can't get through, something like galvanized wire mesh or another sturdy material. She isn't an outdoor adventure dog; she doesn't need a big yard. But she does need a very secure area to do her potty business. Never EVER should she be left in the yard alone. Jingle is the type of dog that becomes your BFF. Your movie-watching, couch lounging, hanging out, reliable friend. We look forward to matching Jingle with her forever family soon!

Pekingese / Poodle DOB 06/22/25 9 Pounds Spayed /Microchipped UTD on vaccinations Adoption Donation: $600.00 (tax deductible) INSTRUCTIONS for ADOPTION: ***Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. ***If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send a completed application to gateway4paws@gmail.com. ***Applications & FAQ regarding adoption can be found on our website. ***Only completed applications that meet requirements will be reviewed. ***Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applications will be contacted or scheduled to meet our dogs ***We do not allow shipping & do not transport. ***You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & be able to drive to the foster for a meet & greet. Pecan was surrendered by a breeder because she had Microphthalmia in both eyes with Corneal edema in the right eye and Symblepharon in the left eye as well. We know, lots of big words. Microphthalmia is where the eyes are abnormally small. Corneal Edema is a blue, foggy swelling of the cornea from fluid buildup. Symblepharon is the adhesion of the conjunctiva (pink tissue). Pecan does have some sight in her right eye and does very well considering. She did end up having some issue with her left eye so we did have the eye and all the tissue removed. REQUIREMENTS: ***Canine friend of similar size & temperament (under 20lbs) in the home are ok ***No stairs or places she can fall from ***No small/disrespectful children or anyone who is a fall risk ***Secure physical fenced yard or harness leash walk only Pecan does not know her vision is impaired. She runs around just like any other puppy. She enjoys her toys and being with her humans. She will need a playpen for her own safety when she is not being supervised by humans. She is 100% house trained as long as she goes out on a regular basis. She does have a small bladder since she is a puppy. We will not consider homes with small/disrespectful children, anyone using a walker/cane/wheelchair, or any dog bigger than 20 pounds in the home. These are all hazards for Pecan. Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility. It requires lots of patience & time! But it is very rewarding if everyone is invested. Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt a wonderful new friend. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first.
