Story
Winston is the sweetest guy who is looking for some TLC in his life. Originally part of a neglect case, this guy came in nearly starved to death. After several months in foster, he is feeling a lot better, gaining weight and ready to find a home where he will be spoiled! Winston is extremely affectionate, to the point of being clingy with the people he trusts most. He did live with other dogs and cats in his previous home, and currently has canine and feline foster siblings. He does well with all, but his social skills are a little rusty. Due to the extreme deprivation in his previous home, he has a tendency to resource guard, both food and people. But as he has healed both physically and mentally, we have every reason to believe this behavior will improve. His new family will benefit with some knowledge of dog behavior in order to support Winston as he re-learns how to react appropriately. He is not very confident in the world around him, but is realizing every day that he never has to worry where food or attention will come from again. That being said, Winston is such a darling boy with an infinite amount of love to share. He loves to chase a ball in the backyard, wrestle with his doggy foster siblings, and enjoys full-body back scratches. He quickly learned how to use a dog door and enjoys spending time outside, but also walks well on a leash. Everyone who spends time with him is quickly won over by his charm, cheer, and adoring gaze. We challenge you to meet Winston and not fall in love!
