Story
Meet Sherlock! Sherlock is one of Alma and Bess’s precious pups, lovingly known as one of the “Fluffers.” This litter had a rough start after being surrendered from a backyard breeding/hoarding situation and ending up in the shelter. Seeing them on cold concrete was heartbreaking, so into foster care they went. They were not in the best condition at first, but with love and care they started to thrive. Then, unexpectedly, they came down with parvo. Sherlock and his siblings were rushed to the emergency vet late at night, where they received antibodies and supportive medical treatment. And recover they did! Now Sherlock is healthy, happy, thoughtful, and ready to solve the mystery of who his forever family will be. Mostly black with a white chest and white feet Quiet and thoughtful, just like his namesake Thinks things through before doing them The quietest pup in the group Very easygoing and laid back Good with other dogs Good with cats Fully vaccinated and neutered Eating Retriever puppy food and does well eating with the group Crated at night, assuming he is not out fighting crime, and during the day as needed His crate is usually clean Perfect on a leash Excellent with potty training Not big on barking and rarely does Fluffy and will need regular grooming to keep him looking his best for crime fightingSherlock is a sweet, easygoing boy with a calm little soul. He is not the pup throwing himself into every situation without thinking. He likes to observe, sniff around, and figure things out first. He loves a good sniff around the yard, and we are pretty sure he is looking for clues and solving crimes when no one is watching. He is the kind of pup who says, “Oh, that’s what we are doing now? Okay, cool,” as long as it does not interfere with meal time or nap time.Sherlock is quiet, smart, and steady. He would be a wonderful fit for someone wanting a gentle, thoughtful puppy who is already doing great with leash skills, crate habits, and potty training. His moms are both right around 20 pounds, so Sherlock is expected to stay on the smaller side. He is 16 weeks and weighs in at 10.2 lbs. He has the looks, the brains, and the calm personality to make someone a truly wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a very sweet, easygoing, clue-finding dog, Sherlock is your guy. His $550 adoption fee covers medical to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. He is currently in Louisiana.
