Story
Meet Mags,Mags is in the Adoption Ambassador foster program. Foster families take animals into their homes and help them get adopted. This is what her foster family is saying about her: Mags is a shy, timid dog who takes her time warming up to new people and places. She’s more of a “hang back and watch first” kind of girl, but once she starts to feel safe, her gentle personality begins to show. She would do best in a calm home with a patient adopter who won’t rush her. A confident, friendly dog companion would likely help her feel more at ease and give her something steady to follow as she learns the ropes. With patience and a steady routine, Mags will gradually begin to relax and show her softer, more trusting side. Here`s some additional observations from her foster Mom:I`m sad to say I think someone treated her badly in her past since she flinches if you move your hand towards her too fast. But I can tell she very much wants human attention and love. She wants to be close to her people or person she trusts. She will keep being brave if her family keeps being patient as they introduce her to new people and situations. It didn`t take long for her to start seeking me out. She will calmly come find me in the house so she can lay in the same room. It just took some kindness, gentle pets and telling her what a `good girl` she is. - She is an easy to love girl who would make someone a wonderful companion. She walks well on the leash without pulling while keeping an eye on what is going on around her. Her personality is starting to show more every day. She is very sweet and gentle with a playful, energic side coming out as she gets more comfortable. I see it when she spots a rabbit or when she gives me the cutest play bow.- She is house trained. She sleeps through the night and doesn`t get up until on I wake her up. She is also enjoying long walks. Interested in Mags?! Story
Ava is a senior fluffy collie mix with the purplest tongue you’ve ever seen! As an older dog, her hearing and sight might not be what it used to be, but her nose is legendary — she’ll track you (and your snacks) down no matter where you try to hide. Sweet, silly, and oh-so-fluffy, Ava’s ready to sniff out her forever home. When she arrived at Hallie Hill positive for heartworms, but after diligent treatment, she is now heartworm negative! Ava enjoys hanging out with her other canine friends and chatting; she has a very distinct voice. Even though she`s never smoked a cigarette in her life, Ava`s bark is endearingly gruff and ruff, always there to remind you when it`s meal time. She loves perching in a comfy chair, and her gorgeous fur is ripe for the brushing. If you think Ava would make a great addition to your home, fill out an application on our website: https://www.halliehill.com/dog-adoption-application/
