Story
INTRO
Meet Forest, an active little guy with a serious appreciation for two things: tug-of-war and socks. Preferably, both at the same time. Forest is a fun-loving puppy with plenty of energy and a playful spirit who would love to have a canine companion to help keep him entertained.
HISTORY
Forest and his six siblings came to HART when they were just two weeks old. Their mama was surrendered with them, and she will be returning to her original owner after being sterilized, brought up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
Forest was born on 07/10/2026 and has been raised in a foster home where he has had plenty of opportunity to grow, learn, and experience what it means to be part of a family.
Forest is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family!
SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING
Forest is an active, playful boy who loves having something fun to do. Tug-of-war is high on his list of favorite activities, and socks are apparently irresistible. Put the two together and you’ve got one very happy puppy!
He is fostered with twin toddlers and other dogs and is getting valuable experience learning how to live as part of a busy family. Forest would especially enjoy having a canine companion who enjoys playing and can help him burn some of that puppy energy.
Forest and his siblings are working hard on crate training and potty training while learning all the skills needed to become well-rounded family dogs. His adopter should be prepared to give him appropriate outlets for his energy, including play, training, enrichment, walks, and plenty of opportunities to be a puppy.
Puppy classes and ongoing positive-reinforcement training would be a great fit for this busy little guy and will help teach him when it is time to play and when it is time to settle.
It’s important to remember: Forest is a PUPPY, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! He has sharp nails, needle teeth, boundless curiosity, and an impressive ability to find things he probably shouldn’t have. He will have accidents, chew things, pounce on your shoes, and generally keep you on your toes. Please don’t apply to adopt Forest unless you’re prepared for the time, patience, energy, and commitment required to raise a puppy right!
HEALTH STATUS
Forest has received two puppy vaccinations, four rounds of deworming, and has been microchipped. He appears to be in good health.
Forest will be sterilized as part of his HART adoption. Additional veterinary care, including ongoing vaccinations and routine puppy care, will be the responsibility of his adopter.
