Story
Meet Leroy 25C-179 The trip to the bark park was an effortless journey as Leroy walked with a laid-back, stress-free stride, step-for-step with the human. Leroy is a friendly, just wants to be with you canine who shares his enticingly handsome smile with everyone he meets. This mellow natured fellow meandered over to the doggy wading pool where he gazed down into the water and noticed a tantalizing hot dog treat expectantly waiting for him. Leroy gave it the old college try and dipped his head a couple of inches into the pond but he couldn’t quite work up the courage to submerge the additional inch necessary to secure the prize. He glanced over at the human with a forlorn look on his face and suggestively licked his lips as he tried to entice the human to lend a hand. The bystander stayed his distance, giving Leroy another chance at success, which went unheeded and resulted in a training tutorial on effort and dedication using the classic metaphor, “a lesson learned is a lesson earned,” of which canines may be blissfully unaware. Nine-month-old Leroy carries some hound genetics but he remained totally silent during his bark park adventure. Leroy interacts marvelously with the other canines and shares playful romps with all of his pod partners.

He’d thrive in a home that can match his energy with walks, yard time, and maybe even a game of fetch or two. And after the fun? He’s all about belly rubs and cuddles on the couch.

Story
Attention! If you have been looking for for a mid-sized, velcro pup with droopy ears and a tail that never stops wagging, we have the perfect recommendation for you: say hello to Skyler! Skyler was picked up as a stray with her companion Saul. Although the two enjoyed each other's company and played wonderfully together, they were not a bonded pair, and Saul has already moved on to find his home. That leaves Skyler, who is now in need of a yard to play in, a couch to recline on, and a bed to cuddle up on. This young female hound mix is 2 years old and just 45 lbs. Skyler is at her happiest when both paws are planted firmly on your chest and intense eye contact is held. With a tail that wags so hard she has a difficult time walking, you don't have to wonder if this sweet girl is happy. She will tell you herself! Skyler is excessively social! Our girl has never met a stranger. She loves kids, but she may be overwhelming to smaller members of your family due to how physical her affection is. Skyler is universally friendly to new dogs. She tends to switch between offering submissive behavior/appeasement to more overbearing dogs and overcorrecting those that are a bit more familiar, but she evens out quickly. She loves to play in the water! Skyler is young, and of course has lots of energy to burn. As a hound, she loves to explore her environment with her keen nose. She is super treat motivated and loves to investigate any potential sources of food! It is clear she is still learning the ropes of being a house dog, but this smart girl will pick it up quickly. She keeps a clean kennel and housebreaking should be low-effort and speedy.
