You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Arthur is a mixed breed boy who we were asked to take from a very good shelter in SC before his time was up.  The folks at the shelter described this handsome boy as "our resident clown. This big, goofy boy has a heart as big as his head and a personality that shines on the darkest days. Whether he's zooming after toys or trying to sit on your lap, he's guaranteed to make you laugh. Beneath all the silliness, is a loyal, affectionate pup who just wants to love and be loved."  Arthur is 3 years old and seems to be cat tolerant with supervision.  He is faintly heartworm positive and is receiving medication.   Arthur is about 75 pounds.   He is in a foster home and doing great!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 15, 2025, 1:29 pm

This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Hi, my name is Lara. I’m a sweet 2–3-year-old Lab/Hound mix with big brown eyes and an even bigger heart. I’m a little shy at first, but once I know you’re my person, I’m all in—snuggles, tail wags, and quiet companionship included. I am dog and cat friendly and would welcome a home with older children as playmates, as I am a gentle little lady who prefers the calmness and serenity with less hustle and bustle. I just want the simplest things in life. My life was sad, hard, and stressful before coming to LaMancha. I was found as a stray in North Carolina with my babies living in an old, demolished, vacant home trying to feed and care for my babies and myself all on my own. It was a rough life, as I was so hungry and scared. I am forever grateful to the rescue heroes that saved me and for LaMancha for saying yes to care for me and my babies till we find our forever homes. I dream of having a family to love me.
