Story
Very hard to submit this boy for adoption but he is just too far gone for us to handle with a toddler. He is so sweet when it is just him as the only dog but aggressive towards other dogs in his territory or around food. He is not an issue with people or kids just other animals and we dont want it to become a safety issue since we have another dog that is smaller than him and plan to have more kids. We want Dusty to go to a loving home but one that will take the time to train him, give him walks/love, and that doesnt have or plan to get another dog. He is a sweet boy just needs to be an “only child”. Please message me if you or someone you know may be interested. He is and has always been up to date on shots and flea/tick treatments and is neutered. We will provide a small crate, bowls, leash, and some food for him for whoever adopts him. Dusty is 3 years old and 3/4 corgi and 1/4 blue heeler. From a breeder in Mississippi. Pick up would be in Maryland, around Baltimore area.

Story
Bua Loi is being fostered in LA. She loves cats, and can be good with quiet, calm dogs. She has been around a rabbit and has done well. She is heart worm positive and is undergoing treatment that will extend until this spring. Bua Loi came to us from a monastery in Texas! She was not in good shape when she first arrived there, but they nursed her back to health and reached out to us. Bua Loi has been in her foster home for several months now. She enjoys spending time outside and loves to prance like a show horse! She also loves to lay in front of the window and take sun baths. She enjoys being petted and getting attention, but is also ok when she's left alone. And she loves to eat! Playing games where she has to sniff for her food is one of her favorite activities. Bua Loi loves cats! In her previous home at the monastery, she adored their cat and they would lay and cuddle with each other. In her current foster home, she spends some time in a room with their rabbit, and she does very well. She also enjoys when there are foster cats who let her cuddle. Bua Loi's foster home is working on helping her get used to having other dogs around, but she can be a nervous dog and would do best in a calm house with quiet or older dogs or cats, or as an only dog, and with a patient family to help her adjust. Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in Bua Loi! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- SUSIE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Here's what the humans have to say about me: Y'all....meet Susie! *Please read the entire post!**Susie is a darling munchkin who is approximately 10 years old and 18 lbs. Unfortunately, her dad passed and she's looking for a family all of her own. Susie is best suited as an only pet, in an indoor, quiet home with an experienced pet person.Medical: Susie has diabetes, a heart murmur, and some heart enlargement. Currently, she is on insulin morning and evening and is fed 4 small meals a day. She is not on any special diet or medication for her heart at this time. This could change as she ages. She is tolerating her insulin injections well.Susie is mostly house-trained (a few accidents while sorting out her blood sugar). She is sweet and social but will sometimes snap or growl without much notice. Although she seems to like children it may be best for her to live with older kiddos or no kids. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor. Once adopted, she will be sent to her new home with some insulin and supplies.Apply at https://highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgIncluded in Adoption: All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated - Da2pp, Bordetella and Rabies, tested for HW/Lyme, dewormed and started on HW/Wormer monthly prevention (Interceptor Plus), and treated for flea/tick control (Advantix).
